I then entered the GBPVR app & updated the EPG from there. As expected the channel information is wrong:

TV1=? no sure what channel: possibly MaoriTV but with clear audio
TV2=TV1
TV3=static: video & audio
Prime=TV3
C4=TV2
MaoriTV=Static: has no audio

Are you sure you've got the right channel number entered against each channel in your capture source? You can run the tuning assistant to see what channels are where.

I had been forgetting to reassign the frequency numbers to the channels inside the edit recording source. :eek: I had done it this way originally but had Rolleyes forgotten.

However, I am back to no audio when attempting LiveTV. I have done a test record & that has audio. What now?

ps. do you have a life outside of GBPVR? Or is she your beautiful mistress Big Grin

Right. Looks like I've resolved the no sound issues. Here is the history of my recent attempt.

1) I uninstalled GBPVR. I did a clean reinstall of ver. 0.99.5

2) I did not touch the options within the config except to add one 150MCE device. I updated the EPG then set the channels to the frequencies determined via tuning assistant. Adjusted the channels to my order of numerical preference in the channels tab. Entered GBPVR & tried LiveTV: Yeah, success.Smile

3) I setup the second 150MCE(2) & updated the EPG. I did not adjust the frequencies as above. Entered GBPVR LiveTV & the channels were set as described in earlier posts: incorrectly ordered with static on some. Damn. :mad:

This said to me the device orders were back to front!!!

4) I went back into config & changed the frequencies as for the first card: no sound. :mad:

5) I edited both recording sources & changed their device order & renamed them accordingly. YESSSSS. Success.

The issue with the detect device programme is it does not determine which order GBPVR recognises the cards, apparently. If you have two identical tuner cards, it cannot differentiate which should be the first device etc., even if the first device recognised by GBPVR happens to be in a lower PCI numbered slot. ie. my first device is installed in PCI slot no. 4; & the second card in PCI slot no. 2. Go figure.

Thanks for all your help & patience, SubRolleyes . I don't know if you want to take this resolution & reword somewhere for easy access. I'll bet I'm not the only who this has affected.

Its been said in lots of places that the device number is not predictable. If you have one card and add another it wont necessarily become device #2. It can become device #1, with the other one pushed out to device #2. It gets more confusing when you have more devices.

Someone said they thought the device number related to the PCI slot, but I'm not sure.

Damn, Damn, Damn, Damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has not resolved the issue. If I have two concurrent recordings one is STILL without audio. Obviously, all I had done was to swap the device with the issue around.

Anyone have ideas what I could try? I don't have much hair left :eek:

Device number killed me when I put both of my 150's in. The first device that gets added is #2 and the second device is #1. Of course I was setting it the other way. Took me a couple of hours with help from the forum to figure it out Smile
There's a utility on the wiki that supposedly will list the device numbers of each card, but it didn't work for me. It's called DeviceTypeCheck if you want to try it out. http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...eTypeCheck

So did you find a resolution?

Been there, done that. Didn't work for me, either.

I set the first tuner as device #1, second tuner as device #2 and and it was still hosed. (I don't remember what the exact problem was). Then I set my first tuner as device #2 and the second tuner as device #1 and that solved the problem.

You'll also need to make sure you have the latest Hauppauge drivers or you might run into some kind of "timing" issue that screws up comskip/comcut if you have 2 150's. If you start running into that problem search the forums for something like "timing problem 150".

I have already tried that as previously stipulated. All that happened was the no audio switched from the initial device used to that of second one. When I had concurrent recordings the second recording had no audio.

What version are you using? Including MPG decoders. Are they from http://www.shs.com site or Hauppauge homepage ones?

I'm using the drivers from Hauppauge. The ones I used several months ago when I rebuilt my PVR box were:

pvr150_500_basedriver_2043_24103

This version may be old by now, I'm not sure, but I'd imagine anything newer would be fine.

Have you tried to see if it's maybe a bad card or pci slot? Try running with one card, test the sound & video. Then shut it down, remove that card, then put in the other card and test it out. If they both work, then try the other pci slot you were using. Could be that you have some sort of IRQ conflict.

I've never really and a sound problem before, well, except when I was remote controlling my PVR over Remote Desktop Connection and had "bring remote computer sound" selected. Then it reset the audio driver to some RDP driver so none of the sound worked on my computer. But that doesn't sound like your issue...

Coming from Hauppauge, I wouldn't necessarily bet on it. If they are working: don't touch a thing.

Tried all that with no results.

I've just installed these drivers which state they have improved tuner & 3rd party apps workability. http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?topic=10654.0 Of course, I have had to reinstall GBPVR, again :mad:

They SEEM TO BE WORKING. I am completing a dual record test & it appears both have audio. But after my previous jump-the-gun salutations, I think I'll wait a bit.
