sub,

File attached. I downloaded LOGZIP plugin. I was surprised to see only one file within the zip file.
If you need something different let me know.

I watch the time line (Ctrl B, your suggestion earlier)and I could see SKIPS over the commercial. I think ShowAnalyzer need some tweaking because a lot of the individual commercials are still at the beginning & ending of the commercial.

Can I use the post-processing.bat file to run ShowAnalyzer if I am not using GBPVR to record the show? In other words, what specifically CALLS the post processing bat file?

The log files are in "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\logs"

GB-PVR calls PostProcessing.bat at the completion of a recording, so it would need to have been recorded by GB-PVR for this to be called.

Unfortunately you havnt included gbpvr.exe.log, which is the specific logs I'm looking for on this occasion.

So you're seeing the commercials highlighted in the timeline? but its not automatically skipping them once it reaches that point?

sub,

I have a 2 sub directorys for logs

devnz/gbpvr/log/logs
and
devnz/gbpvr/logs

These files are from devnz/gbpvr/log/logs

The first set was from devnz/gbpvr/logs

Should they be combined.

I tried setting up the EPG tonight and ran into trouble. Hoping to slowly migrate to just using GBPVR and eliminate BeyondTV.

Yes, the time line is there showing the commercials marks and it is skipping portions of it but there seems to be approximately 5-10 seconds of commercial on each side of the mark that is not marks.

ah, that sounds like GB-PVR is doing its thing correctly then, but ShowAnalyzer is not accurately marking the commercials. GB-PVR will be no more that about half a second off from the spot the .txt file identifies.

sub,

I agree, I think ShowAnalyzer needs some tweaking.

THANKS for your help.

Carolinaguy...

I've never tried showanalyzer myself but you might want to try comskip instead of showanalyzer. I use comskip and it works well about 95% of the time and it's highly tweakable too.

Watching TV without commercials is great!

I'm curious about the sequence of events when changing things in the processing tab of config menu. I have created a special ini file for a certain channel and so I modified my postprocessing batch file accordingly. But it was still taking like 20 minutes after a show to process it.

1st question: So I changed it to do it while the show is going. CPU usage is great it's only like 30%. The show comes out and for that one channel everything is working exceedingly well. Then I decided since I pretty well have had success for the last 15 recordings that I would go ahead and use comclean. I put "call comclean %1" into my batch file, but then the avi output file wasn't cut. So if you use comskip during the program does it not utilize the same batchfile? Is it transcoding before it's doing the comclean? Why didn't it have the commercials permantly removed.

2nd question: After seeing this discovery I went ahead a moved onto a more pressing issue HD space. I have quickly filled up my 320 Gb HD, so I started transcoding and set for all future mpgs to be auto-transcoded(thanks for that feature sub :-) ). I remember reading some where that you can't leave the text files in the same directory otherwise it will mess up GB-PVR is that correct? If so, what would I need to add to my batch file to get rid of them. I've only tweaked one channel to have the most efficient comskip, so I'd rather leave on the skip commercials enabled for all other channels. Any thoughts?

I want to ultimately end up with an avi Divx playable file that I have removed the commercials from for this particular channel. Preferably without having to manually delete the text files. But if that's the case that's fine for now. :-) I can think of a inefficient work around for now, but it won't always work. del c:\myvideos\SG1\*.txt, but that will only delete the text files of the Stargates.

I'm afraid that I don't understand how its doing the processing durnig the recording and that's why I'm having these problems. I've searched the wiki and there is a separate description of each, but I couldn't locate a distinction of how they all work in conjunction.
