Logs attached

Directory and file names as follows:
Doesn't Work on MVP / Works on the PC
Im Focus Das Wunder von Europa Vom Schlachtfeld zur Union (Teil 1)

Works on Both
Super 14s (Encrypted)

So not ")" related.

There was (is in the name in GBPVR) a ":" between Focus and Das (hence the gap. Could it be that?

Hi JK, I already wanted to try yesterday but didn't have the time.
I tried to rename a mpg to something with a ":" in it but it wouldn't.
Ofcourse not as the following characters are not allowed in file names:
/\*:?"<>| :o

So I think you might have found your problem. I don't know how gbpvr on the server handles this to make it work. Although in the gbpvrrecordingservice log there is no ":" in the filename.
Did you try renaming the file?

IIRC I only have XRecord and UbuRadio. EDIT (and MVP_Tray_Icon). At the moment.
I used to have Weather and Videoarchive. But I believe I deleted / uninstalled these some time ago when troubleshooting.

A forum search shows it (converter3) belongs to XRecord. I'll ask fla.

However, I believe I tried in the GBPVR Recordings mode as well, same issue. I can try again when I get home (can't VNC to the MVP's Remote :-) ) just to be sure and post a log after that.

Hi HtV, thanks for getting your teeth into this. In the GBPVR screen (must be in the Database), the ":" shows up. But not in the filename or directory name. Nope, I didn't try to rename it, as I thought the database would then "lose" it. But I guess I could just import it and try that. Although the three spaces " " rather than " : " should not present a filename problem?

I think it might be more a xrecord problem as there is no ":" in the filename (can't be). The problems in the past I had were more like ö á, these kind of things, I don't remember exactly. But maybe it doesn't like the 3 spaces:o , who knows.

I also noticed errors in the mvpgbpvr.exe log: also xrecord related I think:

Well I tried the file again with several configs: The comment about conskip and one log showing it failed after checking comskip made me try anc check that, but I don't think it is that. It is seriously repeatable both with and without Xrecord.

Log1. Using GBPVRs native Recordings rather than Xrecord. Same MVP Disconnect. I thought it might be comskip related. I don't think so now.

Log2. Using Xrecord with Comksip disabled in Config (Misc Tab). Same MVP Disconnect.

Log3. Using Recordings with Comsip disabled in Config. Same MVP Disconnect.

There's an unhandled exception in GBPVRRecordingService.exe-3.log, but I think it's unrelated. One thing struck me though, Tipstirs MediaMVP tips (which I do not use) for MediaMVP stream indicates that the MVP usesPorts 5900 to 5906. I use UltraVNC quite often, which forwards to 5901. Would this throw this error?

Sorry, I dont really know. The logs dont give any more info than "the mvp disconnected for some unknown reason".

Bu**er. Oh well, thanks for looking at them. It's a puzzler, and an annoying one because it's ONLY on the MVP. The file is intact and plays nicely on the PC.
