From the logs it looks like the zap2it server is dropping your connection as soon as it is initiated.

It seems a little funny asking this now that this is a pay service, but could you possibly PM me your email address and password so I can try it from here? Hopefully we'd quickly get past the stage where I'll have to ask users to do this.

sub Wrote:Its been working pretty well for people that have tried it so far. Its actually just using the same old zap2it grabber with a slightly different URL on the zap2it servers, so it should be working as well as zap2it ever did. The only problems the testers had initially was creating their account on the new schedulesdirect website, but that seems to be resolved now.

It'd be best if you reproduce the problem then zip and attach the logs so I can have a chance to diagnose the cause of you problem.

Remember, in a couple of days I'll be away for the best part of a month, so now is a good time to do this or you're likely to go without this being fixed until I get back.
Mea Culpa, cockpit trouble. Apparently I was missing the ":-" after the lineup number. The input string is fairly finicky.

So you're all go now?

Sounds like user error to me Big Grin. If your lineup code includes ":-" and you're trying to setup GB-PVR for this specific linup, then it needs to be include ":-" (and any other letters/numbers/symbols in the lineup code).

I know what you mean though. As I've said in a couple of places, this manual method for entering the lineup code is a bit complex so I'll eventually add some drop down box that shows the list of available lineups downloaded from the user's account. Unfortunately I'm running a bit short on time and Schedules Direct has arrived too late for me to do this before I go on holiday.

Most people dont have multiple lineups though, so wont have the opportunity to get it wrong.

Sub,
You were right that I hadn't updated per the survival guide. I know I tried to, but I hadn't closed the tray app and it won't write it if you don't.
Anyway, It appears to be working fine. The text in the config app still says it is contacting zap2it servers, but other than that it worked fine. I was surprised that all of my pending recordings are still there. Very nice.

I noticed that too (the part about contacting the zap2it servers). Is that normal, or should it say that it's contacting SD? Hopefully, it's only cosmetic and it isn't pulling data from zap2it instead of SD.

In any case, followed sub's instructions and nothing blew up. I've got 5 capture sources on my machine, but all accessing the same line up; wasn't sure what was going to happen there. Still have my listings and recording data intact so that's good. I'll give it 4-5 days to automatically update itself and see if the future listings are mangled or working or whatnot. If everything's good by then, I'll definitely pay.

I'll change the message in the next build so it doesnt cause any confusion, but in case you werent aware - the data is still coming zap2it. At this stage SchedulesDirect is effectively just collecting money and paying zap2it to allow the existing service to continue to run. The only differences is a slightly different URL on the zap2it servers, and the new website for setting up accounts.

Good to know. Yes, I was confused since I wasn't sure if my changes had taken effect or not. Anyways, here's hoping that nothing blows up with SD so that you can enjoy your well deserved vacation, sub Smile
