Cannot get Schedule Direct Feed to Work

Did you apply the patch from the survival guide?

No, I added the info to the end of the hosts file located in system32/drivers/etc... file.

Working like a champ. I would imagine that's what the patch does too.

No it doesnt. It uses the adds the correct URL, which wasnt known (since the service hadnt launched) at the time the GB-PVR release was done.
