I'm no expert on this - just seen what others have been posting...

I just got a new PC with VISTA (never used it before and ran across this 1721 error. I am not sure HOW you're supposed to run as administrator (right click "run as admin" doesn't work on this msi, but I ran a cmd window, holding CTRL-SHIFT and pressing enter which apparently runs that as Admin. I then ran GBPVR10209.msi /passive and it seems to be OK, so far.

Goodness knows WHY Vista is so difficult with this....

Once I did that, I was able to install 1.2.9 on my kids Vista PC.
i3-3570k, 8GB RAM, Win10 Pro, Nvidia GT710, HDHomeRun (OTA), NPVR 6.x
On a clear disk, you can seek forever...

Funny, I had no problem whatsoever installing GBPVR under Vista (as a client).
I guess, sometimes even I get lucky.Smile
