Thanks for the input almost there.
To recap
plugged in my sky sat cable. no settings seem to work with pvrx2, although sat works with powercinema.
So whats the settings required in the satelite setup for New Zealand.
lnb freq power etc. the registry setting for powercinema gives nothing away.

Also Sound issues.
Power cinema will record and play back sound and video perfect as long as I don't enable time shift.
However you guessed it. If I play back with any other program the audio sounds like 10 minutes worth compressed into 5 seconds.

mine works set to 11300 on all lnb settings and tick the power box

Thanks it is now scanning the channels I got the old volt meter out to check the voltage it was correct setting all to 11300 seems to have done the trick.
now to check if the sound works :-)

This ones for sub (effects freeview Terestial NZ ONLY)
Finaly got everything working from the satelite lnb to prove the installation and all the settings are correct. No problems as of yet

I can only watch channels 1 and the HD test channel on terestial capture. when they glitch the head encoder as the system loops to the start of the test video I get the no signal message and then its locked up. the menu key still works on the remote I then try to exit from the menu it lets me scroll to exit, but when I press exit, its still locked up. ctrl alt del end process.
channel 2 seems to work during the day. channel 3 does a quick burst then hangs (ctrl alt del) channel 4 same all the time.
You would need to be in NZ to sort this out.

If you have any ideas of what I can do to help you pin this down more let me know.
This is my last post regarding this issue. I will update the wiki with the correct info for NZ

No I get nothing just as before.....no TV whatsoever.....if I get it running will I be able to use hardware acceleration?

yes, for all the combinations of OS/Renderer/Decoder that directshow allows it.
