OK, at least now we are getting somewhere.

In the pvrx2 log I see a skin error, looking for C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\skin\background.jpg

This will be because ML2 is a "Legacy" style plugin that requires a skin directory. I'm guessing you have a skin directory and the only thing in it is MusicLibrary2. Grab your background file from devnz\gbpvr\skin2\blue\ - either in this directory or the _commonImages directory - there should be a background.jpg.



Then in the config log I see errors regarding ultraid3lib.dll You could remove that dll (I think in the Plugins\Common directory. And try a recan.


Finally the db name is unimportant. As long as it is specified as .db3 - in newer versions, I remove the option to use MSAccess.

I think you'll need to install the patch from here. And did you install UltraID3Lib from here?

After sorting the bckground and UltraID3.dll, I'm back to the original problem - the scan returns after just a few seconds, and on running GBPVR the library is empty. This is scanning the local hard drive, not the NAS.

Hmm, it still looks likje it doesn't like your UltraID3Lib.

Did you replace as ACTCMS mentioned, or remove? If you replaces, can you try removing in completely.

You may want to look in the gbpvr, plugins\MusicLibrary2, Plugins\Musiclibrary3, Plugins\Common and remove all references to ultraid3lib.dll

Yep, that seems to have sorted it - I now have my l library loaded from the NAS - many thanks! But can you explain what UltraID3Lib does?

But now - the yellow queue button doesnt work! The 'play' button queues if I select it to in config, but the yellow button just does nothing. It used to work........

ultraid3lib is another, mp3 specific tag reader. But for some rea the one you were using did not have the Get Composer function.

Its only there to give people the option between 3 readers. Windows Media Player, taglib-sharp and ultraid3.

taglib-sharp is the best one since it's multi format, and supports embedded album art images.

For your queue problem, post up the pvrx2.exe.log again.....

I've checked, after doing a reboot, and I've still got the ineffective yellow button problem. Zipped up log attached

Can you try using a keyboard and hitting ctrl-y.

Also you may need to turn on Internal MusicLibrary2 logging, as I noticed yesterday, that without it, you don't get any log messages. Not the insane logging.

Then package me up the pvrx2.exe.log and the musiclibrary2.log

OK, I spent a little time making sure that my install was good - I cleared out the MusicLibrary2 and Common directories, and re-copied the files from my ML2 download. I suspected part of the issue might have been down to having tried to use MusicLibrary3 at some point, so I think I cleared out all the ML3 stuff too.

Your suspicion is right - using ctrl-y gives the correct behaviour, while the yellow button still doesn't work.

I've attached the zipped up logs, including ML2.log after turning on the logging option.

So you know what your looking at in the log, here's what I did: I navigated to an album, and then a track. I pressed ctrl-y, then used the green button to check the playlist. I then went back to the library, pressed ctrl-y, then checked the playlist again. I repeated this for several tracks. Each time yellow did nothing, and ctrl-y worked.
