Well, picked the MCE remote in GVPVR, and closed ir32.exe, and it appears all is working fine now!! I will do some more testing and report back.

Looking good! So, if you have one of these remotes, don't allow ir32.exe to start, and pick MCE in the GBPVR config.

Now, next question - where can I find what every key of this remote is called (the name that goes in the irremote.ini file, and all the possible entries for keys into the irremote.ini file??

if this is an MCE remote (which it looks and sounds like it is) then irremote.ini shouldn't have much to do with it - that just holds the key mappings for hauppauges IR32.exe. Use HIP or similar to map the buttons for an MCE remote. http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Tips/...rdware.HIP

just out of interest, where does the IR receiver plug into? The back of the 2250 or a separate dongle? and what OS are you using?

It's a USB device - WinXP SP 3. Also, there is a light on the front of the receiver that lights up when it receives a signal, but it seems to flash all the time also, so I have no idea what it's doing, since there is absolutely NO manual on this thing in existence!!

OK I'm pretty sure you definitely have an MCE remote and not a Hauppauge - Which is a good thing IMHO. Follow the link to the gbpvr wiki on HIP in my earlier post. It links through to the HIP website too. Follow it all through step by step and all should be good.
Basically you're going to replace the MS ehome drivers with modified ones from the HIP site so that you don't get any funny Microsoft 'default' behavior getting in the way.
Next install and configure HIP which is going to take the commands from the remote and translate them to key presses that will operate GBPVR. From memory most of the basic stuff like up, down, volume etc is already there but you'll need to map some of the other buttons to GBPVR's key preses. Check the keyboard reference for inspiration.
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manua...dReference
I've attached my HIP configuration file - I'm on SP3 with a usb MCE remote - so it has a good chance of working and saving you the trouble of mapping every key - but I've not tried swapping HIP files before so no guarantees.

PS I have no idea what the flashing all the time thing is about. It should only flash with key presses I think. You;re not sitting on the remote are you Smile

Nope - checked that!
I think it's also a blaster, has a 1/8" jack on the back and it came with the IR blaster cable. But I am totally confused as to why it blinks constantly! I don't recall seeing that when I was upstairs assembling it.

Is there a program that can identify the IR codes being received by the receiver? I tried one (belive it was WinTVIR) but it didn't recognize some of the buttons on this remote.
