If this is a brand new HD-PVR, from the factory in the last couple of weeks, then you may be one of the first unlucky ones to get the new version on TME that doesnt make the arcsoft decoders available to other applications. In which case you'll need to find some other decoders (like the Cyberlink ones).
I did make progress (I guess). I can now playback m2ts files but not .ts files for soem reason. As all the files get stored as ts files that's the last thing stopping me now.
Messing around with it, I finally got it to the point where I can watch a picture in Live TV mode without any sound. If I doing a recording I can listen to the sound but I get no picture.
One of the key was to use the EVR instead of VM9. Which helped to satbilize the playback.
Also I just search the forums and found the preferred audio format switch to get sound in livetv mode.
Will work on recordings in the morning and see I I can get those works. I know I disable something about handling ts files with internal reader that may be effecting those.
Thanks so much for the help so far........
I've actually got a revision E1 HD PVR so not sure if that is causing problems.
So. I'm still at a loss for how to get the video working from the recorded program. Nothing I do seems to work in the regard.
I've attached the last logs and config from my setup. Basically LiveTV is working perfectly (video and sound). If I try to record a program and then view it in the recordings I get sound but no video.
I can open the recorded program in WMP and I get the video to play. I don't get audio but I think that's because I removed the AC3filter I had installed to get that working.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help figure this out.
I'm still at a complete loss for what to try next. Basically watching liveTV works fine, but watching a record show is a blank screen with the audio, and the same for watching an in progress recording.
It looks like to me that when watching a recorded show that GBPVR is picking up some other "system default" decoders other than the ones specified. However, when I play them in media player everything looks good.
I intend to dust of my HD PVR, install the lastest firmware, and latest ArcSoft decoder to give it a try in the next couple of days. Hopefully that'll give me some insights into the problem you and a couple of other users are having.
