Its not a case of "opting not to", but rather "been too busy and havnt even thought about it yet". I wanted to wait and see what Syabas ended up coming up with before I invested any time in it.
On an upside, installed the new firmware last night, and the problem with the DVB-S recordings that died after 20 mins (as happened on the Oct 2008 firmware) seems to have been resolved.

OK, thanks for this info.

My HDMI handshaking problems seem to have gone away (not enough testing yet though).
I didn't realise that "resume" would be so simple to use. Even if there was only one resume memory then accidentally hitting stop while watching recordings wouldn't be so painful.
What they have produced is enough to make me happy for the time being.
When I checked before updating - this is the first time since the previous public firmware release that the device has been rebooted. Although I have had to manually start Gaya twice from telnet.
I've got the 110 and just touched the surface of what's possible but I've noticed that whether it's a file on the HD, USB or network, after about 20 minutes into it, I get lots of stops. Doesn't seem to matter what types of files these are either.
No update yet for the 110's.

that sounds like the 20 minute problem the October firmware had. After putting october down on my A100 I backed it out to the August firmware. It ran fine after that.
But the A110 Jan firmware should be out next week, its about 10 days behind normally...
The big mpeg-ts fix for this release was stream type 0x06 which is teletext and it isn't used too much in N.A. I think it was also a memory leak that would lead to a full crash as opposed to a slowdown. @pcostanza I wouldn't rule out a heat related issue especially if you have a hard disk. Make sure you have good air flow and maybe try without the drive.
