Ok. That graph looks good except that it is loading the ArcSoft Audio Decoder HD instead of ffdshow. That's a minor issue that can be sorted with filter merit changes so we'll deal with that later.

What happens when you try playing a Bluray now in GBPVR? Does it play the video at all? If not, zip and post your pvrx2 log files after attempting it. Also, which Bluray disc are you trying to play when you get now video?

I am glad that you think it is a minor issue of changing filter merits and all of this stuff! All this just to play a entertainment disk. But not going to get on my soap box now.
When I go to play the disk, which is The Aviator, GBPVR still very politely opens the drive door and tells me that there is no DVD disk in the drive.

Here are the logs files. Again thanks for the help.

GB-PVR's DVD playback functions are only for DVDs. Those functions are not going to play your Blu-Ray discs.

Whurlstons method was for getting Windows in a state to be able to play the main movie from .m2ts files. Once you have that working, then you're to browse for .m2ts files in GB-PVR's Video Library (not using the DVD button on the main menu).

Success! It played the disk just fine, after I listed the optical drive in config menu. Well I am going to assume it will play the whole disk, I only started it to test things, I didn't watch the complete movie. It did sound though as if it was only in 2 channel audio, but that sounds like the filter change that Whurlston is talking about.

As sub mentioned, the DVD option in the menu is only for regular DVDs, you would need to use the Movie Library for HD discs. Movie Library will also launch GBPVR's internal DVD playback if the disc is a regular DVD.

As for the two channel sound, that is due to the ArcSoft Audio Decoder HD being loaded. To fix it, Select "Graph"->"Insert filter" in GraphStudio, highlight the ArcSoft Audio Decoder HD, click the "Change Merit" button and set the merit to "0x0020001 (MERIT_DO_NOT_USE + 1)".

You will need to log out and log back in for the new merit value to take effect.

whurlston, I am just not having any luck in getting the decoder to change from ArcSoft Audio Decoder HD. I changed the merit "0x0020001 (MERIT_DO_NOT_USE + 1)", rebooted the system and ran a graphstudio test. It still showed the ArcSoft Audio Decoder HD as being used. I then changed the merit to 0x00200000, rebooted and ran the graphstudio. No change. ArcSoft Audio Decoder HD is still being loaded. ffdShow has AC3, E-AC3, MLP and DTS as libavdoec. Next suggestion(s)? Thanks

Two things to check:

  1. The merit on ffdshow audio decoder. Make sure it is higher than "Do Not Use"
  2. The whitelist/blacklist settings in ffdshow audio decoder. Uncheck the box that says "Only use ffdshow in" (or something like that). And make sure that pvrx2 and graphstudio are not in the "Do not use ffdshow in:" list.

The ffdshow audio decoder was set at 0x03fffffff, still did not change the graphstudio. I changed the merit on the ffdshow to 0x0600000, no change. Unchecked the box to limit ffdshow, no change and confirmed tht pvrx2 and graphstudio are not in the do not use list. Just wondering when we are going to get to the minor issure with fileter merit changes? Smile

I just had some trouble with HD MKV files playing in GBPVR and spent time sorting out why. In my case, GBPVR and Graphedit used ffdshow (which failed) while MediaPlayer Classic used CoreAVC, which worked. I spent a lot of time fooling with filter merits, and could not get GBPVR or graphedit to use CoreAVC, despite the fact that CoreAVC had a higher merit. Finally, I unregistered ffdshow.ax and then reregistered it and all began to work as it should according to the filter merits.

I've no idea why, or if this might help you, but when it comes to ffdshow, it can be funky.

LOL. I think we past that a couple of posts ago.

It might be worth a shot to try reregistering the filter. Also, you didn't happen to install the 64 bit version of ffdshow by any chance did you? GBPVR would need the 32 bit version.

Edit: If you are using the 32 bit version, which build are you using? I'll try to replicate.
