The others are in "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\logs"

How do you run filtercheck.exe?

Thanks,

You're in the US, using an ATSC version of the HDHomeRun. You've set these up for European style HDHomeRun with DVB-C/DVB-T. Yours should say 'TUNING_TYPE=ATSC'.

I noticed that but I cannot change it in the dialog box. The box is grayed out. Is there another place?

You specify it in your bda.ini entries.

Well, Sub, I have to say that you have performed a minor miracle, here. To me, and I repeat that I have college level training with computers, though it is a long time ago, there is nothing intuitive about getting this configured. I guess we are all GUI spoiled.Rolleyes

I now have all 11 local channels mapped on both HDHR tuners. I can open PVRX2 and see the EPG, select a program and watch it - I have not yet tried the recording feature, but I have no reason to doubt that it will work. I am not sure where they will be stored? and what the file extension will be so I can search for them (ts or tp?)

I think all that remains is to get sound. I have specified on the capture config page to use my Soundblaster sound card on this PC and the only option beside system default for the decoder is an MPEG decoder. None of the other drop downs on the page have any choices.

I think there is some discussion on one of the forum pages that I will have to try to find, but I would like to schedule reloads of the EPG, too.

Thanks, again - if you have any ideas about sound, I'd appreciate your input.

Jim

The only people that usually have to edit bda.ini is the HDHR users, because the manufacturer decided to do their drivers a different to everyone else. Your problems all stemed from your doing this edit incorrectly.

The tutorials for setting up HDHR with GB-PVR show it needing TUNING_TYPE=ATSC, but for whatever reason you didnt do that. If you hadnt made this mistake, you'd have had it going long ago.

Great.

They stored in a subdirectory off the recording directory you have configured in the config app. If you're using the default TS Mux, then you'll .ts files.

You may need to install some other decoder (AC3Filter and/or MPA Decoder etc)

Do you have any recommendations for an MPA decoder or AC3 filter? - I would have sworn I downloaded an MPA decoder but I have no idea where it is, anymore.

I had no idea when I started out here that I would have to modify the BDA.ini file at all. I had a pretty good idea that I would have to write batch files for updating, etc. but when I read that HDHR was supported I naively thought it would just work. Now that it is close, I am very impressed with picture quality and features. I can't wait to be able to just use it!

Install em both. One is for AC3 audio. One is for MPEG audio.
