This is still an issue after loading the patch. I will try and upload a chunk for you to have a look at.

sub,
I have been following this thread as have been having similar problems. I PM'd you with address of ftp d/load of a chunk of file that plays up about a month ago, but I am guessing that you didn't get the PM. If you would still like to have a look at it just PM me to let me know where to send the details. mavelland had a look and mentioned that there is a teletext stream in the TS that is playing up with the timeline.

sub,
I have similar problems with some recordings. I'd like to provide some samples, but the problem usually occurs part way into the file rather than at the beginning. The cutchunk utility only takes the beginning, so I'd have to give you a multi-gigabyte chunk which isn't pleasant for either of us. Perhaps you could update the utility so we can select a starting point in megabytes as well as a size?

gf404 Wrote:sub,I checked this file, and it plays here with the correct duration. It reports 36 seconds, and plays for 36 seconds. Since you mention mvallevand, I should ask - you tried this on the PC, not the MVP right? The MVP has no official support for TS playback at this stage, and you'll most likely get strange durations reported if you try play a .ts file on an MVP. I have made some improvements for 1.4 that might help on the MVP, but no promises at this stage...

The original problem was with mpeg stream type 6
http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...stcount=17 and not the timeline. It played fine when it was cleaned. sub is there an option to only record the configured video and audio pid streams? I don't expect the MVP will ever be a great TS file player even if 1.4 is perfect. After all, each file has to be muxed back to mpeg-ps on the fly by mvpmc, so hopefully no one outside North America is too hopeful. In North America of course AC3 is not happening, no mvpmc developer seems interested. The new challenge for the MVP is the increasing number of HD bitrate SD files. I have seen quite a few 15 Mbs files recently and although at one time the Hauppauge web site used to say mpeg-2 MP@ML it is now more realistic "Decodes MPEG datarates from 1.5 Mbits/sec to 8 Mbits/sec" Martin

I don't want to hi-jack this thread but mvallevand,
mvallevand Wrote:The original problem was with mpeg stream type 6 In the original thread you mentioned cleaning the file with ts4np. When I run recordings through ts4np, the resulting file shows a duration of 1 second and any skip goes back to start of file (on MVP). If I run them through HDTV2MPEG.exe, a TS output has same problem but an MPG output is fine. Did you use any parameters other then input output file? Are there any other command line alternatives to clean up the file?
