And I need to correct my previous posts referring to the backspace key. On my laptop backspace and home keys look very much alike each with a left arrow. It's definitely the home key I was talking about. I just realized that reading your post in an another thread.

Very sorry for the confusion.

Ah - that makes sense. No problem.

I am using HDhomeRun and have the exact same problem. This has only occured in the last 2 months. It worked fine before that. The recording service works fine and that is what I mainly use.
I would like to know the answer. I even did a complete fresh install and came up with the same problem.

BTW, when I use the HOME key and not the ESC key as suggested, I do not have a problem switching stations.

I do notice that when I use the HOME key the station is not disconnected (I can still hear the sound) - It seems the EXC key causes a disconnect of the tuner and it can not be reconnected. The HOME key keeps the tuner connected until the new station is selected.

Nope. I backed off to firmware version 20080723 - same deal. Maybe it's the software drivers the firmware was bundled with?

I backed the software off to the version that came with the unit on CD after backing off the firmware. The old firmware produced the same problem with the new software, but once I uninstalled the new software and reinstalled the old version, the problem went away.

Now life is perfect between GBPVR and HDHomeRun.

Version software that fails on my system: 20090415

Version that works: 20080727

Sub, you were right - it was those Sillydusters and not GBPVR.

so you are using firmware 20090415 and
software 20080727

and it works! Do I have this right? or is it a different firmware version

BTW - nice work!!

No - First I backed off the firmware update - no success, then the software and that's when I had success. I never tried the combination of new firmware/old software.

I am running software and firmware both @ 20080127.

I was having problems going from an HDHR QAM channel to an ATSC channel on a Hauppauge HVR 1600 where I would get the "no signal detected" message. After reading here I rolled back the software to version 20081231 & kept the firmware at 20090415. All works fine now!

Guess I won't be updating the HDHR software again anytime soon!

I am quite new and not completely done with configuring gb-pvr, but this happens more then often without HDHomeRun.

I thought is a CRC problem and wanted to check tonight if "ignore crc errors always" would help with this...

Also, could it be related to which mpeg2 codec i use ?
