Hello,
I can't select software recorder, it is not in the list. I did put the software recorder directory in the GBPVR file. How should it become vissible in the config? In the capture sources I cant add the capture card? Maybe I missed something?

Regards,

I have been able to select WDM but how can I scan/add channels?
I added channels (number) but I do not see any in live tv or guide?

regards.

Quote:You will have to use the Software Recorder since this card doesn't have a HW-encoder, also you have to add an entry for the card in gbpvr's Direct.ini.

How can I open and save the Direct.ini and does anyone know how it should be added for my type of card?

Sorry, but direct.ini is for GBPVR's built-in analog support, so wont work for your card (due to the lack hardware MPEG2 encoder).

Unfortunately you're having a tough time because of the type of card you using. If you'd had DVB-T signals, or a analog-capable Hauppauge card, then things would have been much more straight forward.

So my type of card is not really suitable for analog tv with GBPVR?

No, its not suitable for using with analog tv with GB-PV. It'd most likely be fine for DVB-T though.

GB-PVR's analog support is specifically designed for Hauppauge cards with hardware MPEG2 encoders. Most other non-Hauppauge cards that have hardware MPEG2 encoders have also worked, but mainly because they do things in the same way as the Hauppauge cards.

Cards without MPEG2 encoders dont work with the built in analog support. As mentioned earlier in the thread, some have managed to get their cards working with third party plugins (software recorder plugin, or graph recorder plugin), but from what I've read this sounds a bit 'hit or miss'. I know nothing about these plugins so cant provide any support for them.

Thanks for the info, some threads I read before but it is very difficult to understand it all.

What is the best card or usb stick I could buy to be sure I can use GBpvr with analogue cable television?

With a WinTV-HVR-1300 you have a card with analog and mpeg2 HW encoder that can also receive digital tv. All Hauppauge cards are good and supported by GBPVR, have a look here http://www.hauppauge.de/nl/site/products/prods.html
Or if digital tv never will apply to you, you can choose a card with dual analog tuner (and HW encoder).
