I have now tested a bit more and got guest share to work on my server, but I still cannot browse from the A-110 to find my GBPVR-server.

But if I telnet into the A-110 and issue the mount command there (mounting the \\server\mvpmc at /etc/mvpmc) with the exact command as in GBPVR.CGI it mounts OK. And I can start mvpmcx2 without a problem (from telnet command line i.e.)...
Really strange, I cannot see why this works?

On the A-110 I have manually set up \\server\mvpmc and it loads gb-pvr.html without a problem. But when I try to load GB-PVR I get an error and the only way to load it is off the USB. Not a major problem but a bit annoying.

forzaKGB, it sound like your name is wrong in the GB-PVR.html Start telnet and if you are running mvpmcx2 hit to red button to go back to the NMT menu. In your telnet window type

pflash get udn

In the text that comes back look for &smb.name=... The name that follows should be the same as the name in found in your GB-PVR.html

http://localhost.drives:8883/NETWORK_SHA.../gbpvr.cgi

If they are the same please compress and upload your GB-PVR.html file

Note if you start mvpmcx2 by one of the the three methods in GB-PVR.html you need to power off the NMT to reset it to try another setting.

This is the output of pflash get udn:
http://127.0.0.1:8883/smbclient.cgi?smb....mb.passwd=

Not quite what it should be...
I also suspect something with name-resolution, but I cannot figure out why on earth I cannot browse to my server...
After my power off the mvpmc share gets mounted and if I telnet in and manually run gbpvr.cgi it starts up nicely.

I will continue looking into windows file sharing, all of your stuff is working well (as always). Many thanks to you Martin (and of course Sub) for putting all the effort into supporting all of us :-)

If you think the problem is name resolution edit the URL on the NMT to specify an IP address instead.

Just thought I ougt to tell that I have got it to work from share now, but I had to edit GB-PVR.HTML to use IP-adress and not server name.

Is the HTML file replaced when you run NMTinstall or will it keep the file (just so I can try to remember to edit the file when I do upgrades)?

Glad you got it working. As a note the IP address portion showing in GB-PVR.html and on screen in the NMT Source for the mvpmc share are just text so that wasn't the cause of the problem, you probably just didn't use the matching name before.

I am starting to suspect my NMT unit is defect in some way.
I tried using a index.html to autostart into GBPVR and it worked a few times. But then the remote got unresponsive and started buffering (or not repsonding correctly) to key-presses. And when I got into GB-PVR it just wouldn't stop scrolling.

But it was not only in GB-PVR that I had these problems, it was everywhere in the PopcornHOUR.

I then did a Factory default reset and set the unit up once again and everything (the remote and everything) work like a charm. BUT I can now no longer start MVPMC2, not even from USB stick. It loads the USB, I can open the HTML file and klicka start GBPVR from USB. The screen on the TV goes black, it flickers a moment and then it goes back to the NMT GUI. The telnetd gets loaded so I can telnet into the unit but I fail to start mvpmc2...

I feel I have run out of things to try, did a new NMTinstall to make sure I use the latest versions of all files. Did not fix it...

Did you remember to turn the video back off "auto" after resetting to defaults?

If so logs may be a good idea at this stage after trying to start GB

The rule of thumb on the black screen is 30 seconds of black screen will be a network, firewall or GBPVR configuration error. 5 seconds of black screen is either a command line error or unsupported video mode (auto, 1080p24 etc) that needs a command line.

Jaggy:
Of course I did not...
I will correct this when I get home, am a bit embarrassed. The WAF was low when it did not work last night...

Martin:
I did get it to load after editing startmeup and set it to load as 1080p, then it loaded fine from USB. But not from Network share. Will try some more tonight.
