Cannot install GBPVR version 1.4.7

Since I can't even install the GBPVR application which would normally insert the right info into the registry, will activating your .reg file which will manually insert the information into the registry location cause the installation program to get confused when it finds the inserted info already in the registry prior to installation completion?

Probably not ... if it does, it's easy enough to delete it using regedit.exe ... but we'll cross that bridge ...

Although I appreciate each and every response by the forum members that have been kind enough to answer, none of the suggestions actually worked. The activation of the recommended registry file did not insert the needed entries into the registry. For the benefit of all this is what I had to do to actually fix the problem and finally get this darn thing installed.

What I had to do was to go to the registry and right click on the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\devnz folder name then selected the “permissions for devnz” option. For some strange reason this was the only folder I could find that had the permissions/security tab set to administrator (which is me anyway, only one that uses this machine) under the group or user names heading. I attempted to set the permissions for this selection to full control and read which had been unchecked. You would have thought this should have done the trick, but again the installation still failed with the same error message as the original install.

What finally fixed the problem and let me install the program was I completed removed the administrator from under the group or username heading (permission/security tab) and added the “Everyone” username setting the permissions to full control and read. I exited the registry and the darn program finally loaded without any error message. Hopefully this solution will help any other poor soul that runs into this installation problem.

Glad you got a result ... I'm baffled as to what caused the problem but since it's solved, why worry!
