No, it should pull that from the server. Can you zip and post the complete logs folder from both the client and server?

Does it work if you use the IP address of the server instead of "htpc"?

I tried the IP and the show status works fine, but no PVRX2.

UPDATE: I do not have any anti-virus or extra firewall software installed, FYI. Do you think it could be Windows XP Home edition? Does Home edition not have something that would not let it work?

I wouldn't think home edition has anything to do with it but I could be wrong.

Can you try downloading SQLiteSpy from http://www.yunqa.de/delphi/doku.php/prod...espy/index to the client. Run it and select File -> Open and then type "\\htpc\gbpvr\gbpvr.db3" and see if it opens the database.

Edit: do you happen to have the windows firewall enabled on the server? If so, try disabling it.

Just thought of something: try setting your Database Share on the client to use the IP address as well: "\\[ip]\gbpvr"

I just tried SQLite spy and it sees the database file, but can not open it. I also tried the IP address and it still did not work.

Ok, I reinstalled GBPVR into C:\Devnz\GBPVR and shared that folder. I moved the recordings folder to C:\Devnz\My Recordings and shared that folder. I went into safe mode and changed permissions to give control to the user "Everyone" on the folder C:\Devnz. and I then tried and it worked in streaming mode. I am able to start up the TV guide. BUT when I try to watch any video the sound comes through, but no video.

UPDATE: In a second attempt, I learned that if you are using Windows XP Professional you need to turn off simple file sharing (google how to do this) and then when you apply the Full Control permissions to the user Everyone in the permissions section be sure to click on "Advanced" and then select the "Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects." This will propagate the permissions to all the files in the folder and especially the gbpvr.db3 file which GB-PVR is looking for. To double check to make sure it is correct, view the permissions on the gbpvr.db3 file and be sure the user Everyone has Full Control and then even if your client machine does not have a username and password it will still work. Removing security for usability, unfortunately.
