Possibly but it will be something external to the nDroid Service. I know there are a number of people running it with W7 64-bit and although there have been some problems, it works fine with the right versions of the various libraries and .NET installed.

One thing I didn't pick up on straight away in the logs is it's looking for assemblies with culture 'nl-NL' - did you install a locale-specific version of .NET 4 framework?

Maybe a language pack, but not sure. Maybe indeed locale-specific version. Could be.
And when I look in windows, programs, I see: "Microsoft .NET Framework 4, Client profile" and "Microsoft .NET Framework 4, extended".

I'll hopefully look at this further later today. Sorry I've been a bit slow to respond - currently finishing off 2 days of clean up after a water leak in the kitchen.

Quick question... are you running NextPVR v3.1.1 (which also use .NET v4)? Your signature says v2.6.2.

No, still running 2.6.2.
I think you're going to suggest to install 3.1.1?

If so (let me know):
In the sticky I read "NextPVR 3.1.1 now relies on .NET 4.0, but for the first time includes an automatic installer.", so that looks easy.
I always make a windows image before these kind of changes. Need some time for this, will probably not be before the weekend.

Well no...it's your choice which version of NextPVR you run and the nDroid Service doesn't need v3.1.1 but it does look like the root of the problem is with your .NET v4 installation If you did have npvr 3.1.1 installed and working then that would shift the problem back to nDroid.

There is a bug in the nDroid Service I've discovered as a result of this but it isn't the cause (as far as I can tell). I'll upload a new version of the service installer later - it won't fix the problem but it will handle it differently. Hopefully it won't crash the service and I'll add extra logging.

It may be worth un-installing and re-installing .NET v4 though but that's your choice.

Cheers,
Brian

If I understand correct, your new version might be a workaround? If so, I'll try that first. Maybe the extra logging gives you more confirmation that it's my .NET v4 installation that's causing the problems?

If not, I'll install 3.1.1 . I will do that anyway, but just not right now if I don't have to.

Brian,

I don't know what it's worth, but I have been running this .NET Framework Setup Verification Tool:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive...99004.aspx
and found no errors.

The page you link to mentions that the tool produces log files - I'd be interested to see them if you zip and attach them here. They might give me a better idea of your .NET configuration.

Cheers,
Brian
