When I arrived home my computer was off. I had used the Wintvpvr software to record a tv program and had told it to turn off when it was done.
So after starting and bringing Npvr on line I can now see a picture. However, no sound. The selection in the pop up menu you can bring up with a right mouse click shows that the audio stream is disabled.
Can't seem to find a spot in the setup it might be disabled. If I go to setup, devices, device configuration I have input source set to HDMI and HDMI Audio input.

Attached are the logs. Hope they are current

It looks like you don't have an AAC decoder set on the Settings->Decoders screen. In most cases the Colossus produces AAC audio.

So now, again the video doesn't work. when I select live tv is just comes up with a black screen
I tried selecting some other video decoders but nothing changed.
I don't know if it makes a difference but I'm running npvr on a Intel Pentium 2.80 ghz processor with 3 g of ram. Not the fastest.
Maybe it's time to try R2JJs idea?

Black screen sounds like a HDCP problem.... What is your tv source?
I am using hdmi but I run through a splitter that just happens to "strip" that info so the colossus will work.
The # 1 port of my splitter goes to a tv so my directv can "see" a legimate reason to output HD.

Your logs show it only adding a video decoder. No audio decoder is added. You black screen may just be related to this, since the audio is used for playback timing. Try setting your AAC and AC3 audio decoders.

i tried every combination of audio drivers that were possible but still get the same thing.

My source is HDMI from a DirectTV STB. And I have to say that the Wintv pvr software works with out having a splitter so I'm still thinking I may need to uninstall that and run the clean program maybe.

If you use the Colossus and 2 channel audio it is an AAC decoder you are looking at using. Which did you try?

Yep, I'd have the same question - exactly which AAC decoders are you trying? Your logs haven't shown you using one yet. If you don't have any options available, install the LAV decoders and select it for the AAC decoder. (https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases)

You don't need to uninstall WinTV. If it works, it shows the device and it's drivers are in a functioning state.

Yesterday for some reason the live TV was working. I was going to post the success today. Good thing I didn't because today it's not working.
I have posted the log again and two screen shots. one showing the blank TV screen and one showing the decoder selections that were working yesterday.
One thing I did notice that the NPVR recording service takes a long time to start. The last few time I did a restart on it from the services screen.
I even make sure I click on Start NPR services from the all programs menu. But nothing shows.

You probably need to try deciding if it's a playback issue (decoders) or a capture issues (getting data from the device). ie, try doing a recording to make sure you end up with a non-zero-byte recording, then check if you can play that recording in NextPVR, or other players.

How long is it taking? In the logs it looks like it's taken about 5 seconds, which is reasonable.
