Done. I'll report back with new logs when there's something of interest. It didn't go wrong last night when following my usual recording/watching routine.
Annoyingly, the 6pm news got renamed (yet again) by TVNZ on Friday so it wasn't recorded then. However, last night I had a new timer for the new name, and I started watching the recording at 6.17pm. All was well until roughly 6.45 when I caught up (or nearly caught up) with the stream. That is, I was nearly or as-good-as- exactly watching the recording live, as it came in. (I frequently end up doing this, it's not normally a big deal though sometimes mildly glitchy).
This time, the stream on the Shield hung, so I backed out. On subsequent attempts to watch it, I could not go past the 50-minute mark in the recording. When I checked my PC this morning, the file is truncated to 660MB instead of the usual 800ish, and indeed stops at 50ish minutes in. Logs attached - I hope they are helpful with the verbose setting.
Given I started watching at 6.17, we can rule out a theory that the truncation is associated with when I started watching.
Note: previous failures like this haven't been associated with catching up with the stream, i.e. I know it's not the primary/only cause of whatever is happening. If there is a smoking gun, it's that the stream truncation, IF it happens, often happens at the 45-55 minute time period - which may somehow relate to Martin's query earlier in the thread about the 40 minute thing. Or not.
Thanks!
