The log shows you have configured it to use a Hauppauge Nova-S, but you dont have the BDA drivers installed.

19:32:49.703 INFO Initializing DVB-S tuning request
19:32:49.781 VERBOSE FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: TechnoTrend BDA/DVB-S Tuner

The Hauppauge Nova-S drivers are not BDA drivers, so you need to use the TechnoTrend ones which are pretty much the same hardware.

Thanks for finding the problem Sub, but I'm not sure how to configure it to use the Technotrend ones. I can't see an option for that in the BDA Device Configuration window. Any help much appreciated!

You dont need to change anything in GB-PVR. Leave it with the Nova-S selected.

You need to uninstall the current Nova-S drivers, and instead install the BDA drivers from: http://www.technotrend.com/english/downl...nload.html. Grab the download labelled 'BDA-Software (1.0.5.5 Jul 2005)'

Your Hauppauge software and remote will no longer function after you do this. Hopefully Hauppauge will supply their own BDA drivers for the Nova-S in the future, but I doubt it.

Sorry - I'm still confused. I've d/loaded the BDA-Software (1.0.5.5 Jul 2005). I uninstalled the Hauppauge Nova-S driver (it has disappeared from my network adaptors list). Then I tried installing the TechnoTrend software, but it told me I do not have the device installed, so wouldn't let me continue. Instead I tried manually updating the driver for the Nova-S to the TechnoTrend one (there were four, I picked TTCap46n_W2k_XP.inf (was this right?). Still no joy from GB-PVR though.

Maybe the newer TechnoTrend BDA software will only install on offical TechnoTrend hardware. Older version certainly let you install with Hauppauge devices (which are based on the same TechnoTrend design). I've got a Nova-S in another machine, and I was able to install the TechnoTrend BDA software that was available back in January of this year.

Sorry, it sounds like you may be out of luck, as I dont think Hauppauge are going to release Nova-S BDA software anytime soon.

Do you know of any other BDA software I could use?

No, sorry I dont. I'm fairly sure TechnoTrend was the only option, given the Nova-S is actually TechnoTrend Budget device, or designed by them for Hauppauge, or using their technology or something like that...

I've checked my hard disk, and I no longer have the install for the older TechnoTrend software.

oh no, this is getting worse. I tried completely uninstalling the Nova-S software, took the PCI card out, then later put it back in. When it "found new hardware" and asked for drivers, I pointed it towards the TechnoTrend ones downloaded from their site. Loaded Config.exe and it seemed to have a try at finding the channels, but none were found.

Now, oddly, whenever I try loading config.exe or GBPVR.exe I get these errors. I've tried re-installing GBPVR (current version and old version) and also re-installed dotnetfx.exe, but it keeps happening. I can't use GBPVR at all! Help!

Does the TechnoTrend BDA software work for you? Its probably worth checking that drivers are working properly for you before trying GB-PVR.
