Fixed my own problem, I'm dumb for trying to work on this stuff when I'm tired. Used a diff tool (common programming tool I use all of the time!!!) and found the part you mentioned. Sorry for my incompetence. What caught me up was the following was missing from my Basic skin

Code:
<TextStyle name="ChannelNumbers" color="White" typeFace="Arial" size="13" style="bold"/>

and further, I fixed the Guide size to match yours

Code:
<DrawImage filename="..\_CoreImages\TVGuide_Grid.png" loc="120,80" size="580,280"/>
<Element name="TimelineStatus" loc="120,53" size="580,20"/>

and the SpecialElements
Code:
<SpecialElement name="Guide" loc="120,80" size="580,280" visibleChannels="7" guideMinutes="180" scrollMinutes="60" showNavigation="false" borderWidth="2" showStatusColor="false" showStatusIcon="true" brightenCurrentShowsPercent="20"/>
<SpecialElement name="Channels" loc="25,80" channelsWidth="60" borderWidth="2" showChannelIcons="true"/>

I've attached my Basic skin for your plugin. Now if we can just get it as a video overlay? Smile

Hi,
I can't seem to get the TV Listings plugin to show the channel icons down the left hand side or the programme images.

I know about the <icon> tag for XMLTV. I'm based in the UK does anybody know how to update the xmltv file with the relevant data?
Thanks in advance

If you get guide data from a source that doesn't support the <icon> tag, then you have to configure the plugin to "use resources from an additional dir". Name the images after the channel # and name, e.g. "2 KATU.jpg".

not exactly - icons for channels should be placed in gbpvr\media\ChannelLogos. Icons for programmes should be placed in the directory that is specified in the configuration of the plugin.

Hi guys,

Sorry maybe I wasn't clear. The channel logos display in the normal "TV Guide" because I have the icons in the ..\media\ChannelLogos directory.
However these do not display in the "TV Listings" all I get is a cross next to each channel instead of the icon.
Also I don't understand what the Amazon locale setting is for??

Hate to ask, maybe I need to reboot myself!!:o

which skin and which version of the plugin are you using? Are the channel logos shown in the popup that appears when pressing enter on a programme in the guide?

It is used to specify the language of the search results in the "Find More" screen when performing a search "On Amazon".

I am having the same problem, and it seems to come and go without rhyme or reason. I am primarily using Community Skin and I see this fix itself sometimes as I switch between different skins, but never for long. However once it happens, it doesn't matter which skin I use - even if I change to the 'stock' GB-PVR Blue skin - both the channel logos AND the channel numbers (I'm the guy who asked you for that feature, remember) disappear. The SPACE that they would use is preserved, but nothing there - numbers or logos.

I know it's not a resource path issue, becuase if I select a program, I see not only the channel logo, but the program images as well. So it apprently know where the images are...

I'm stumped. But glad to see I have company Smile .

please zip and attach your log files and the skin.xml you're using and I'll have a look.

Thanks alibert, I appreciate it. It's been driving me batty trying to figure out what changed all of a sudden, because when I first loaded the version you made the change in, I was so pleased that you made it look exactly like I was hoping!

I have included a screen cap of what I am seeing, the entire log directory and the entire tv listings directory from Community Skin (although it happens with other skins as well.)

Hi,

kaizen Wrote:I have included a screen cap of what I am seeing, the entire log directory and the entire tv listings directory from Community Skin (although it happens with other skins as well.)

from what I've seen in the logs, it seems that the skin directory structure is somehow not okay in your setup, as the skin helper isn't able to locate the skin file in the "Community" subdirectory:

Code:
2007-03-12 12:56:52.109    VERBOSE    [1]    Skin file not found: .\skin\Community\TV Listings\skin.xml
2007-03-12 12:56:52.109    VERBOSE    [1]    ...about to check default skin
2007-03-12 12:56:52.140    VERBOSE    [1]    Initializing skin helper for: .\skin\blue\TV Listings\skin.xml
2007-03-12 12:56:52.218    VERBOSE    [1]    videoInsetVisible = false
2007-03-12 12:56:52.218    VERBOSE    [1]    Skinhelper loading image from file: .\skin\Community\TV Listings\..\background.jpg

So, please try to correct this first.

But even if you would be using the skin.xml file you attached above, you won't be able to see the channel numbers and/or logos, as the skin file hasn't been adopted to v0.9 of the plugin yet. Again:
Quote:the new release 0.9 of the plugin is not backward compatible to previous skin files. I would recommend to switch to the default blue skin that is also included in the .zip package of the plugin, until your favourite skin supports the v0.9 of the tv listings plugin.

The red 'X's in the left area result in missing composite images:
Quote:2007-03-12 12:56:52.343 ERROR [1] Unable to find named image: /settings/CompositeImages/CompositeImage[@name="SelectedChannel"]
2007-03-12 12:56:52.359 ERROR [1] Unable to find named image: /settings/CompositeImages/CompositeImage[@name="Channel"]
2007-03-12 12:56:52.375 ERROR [1] Unable to find named image: /settings/CompositeImages/CompositeImage[@name="Channel"]
2007-03-12 12:56:52.406 ERROR [1] Unable to find named image: /settings/CompositeImages/CompositeImage[@name="Channel"]
2007-03-12 12:56:52.421 ERROR [1] Unable to find named image: /settings/CompositeImages/CompositeImage[@name="Channel"]
2007-03-12 12:56:52.421 ERROR [1] Unable to find named image: /settings/CompositeImages/CompositeImage[@name="Channel"]
2007-03-12 12:56:52.437 ERROR [1] Unable to find named image: /settings/CompositeImages/CompositeImage[@name="Channel"]

If I have some time in the next days, I will create a valid skin.xml file for the community skin, as many of you seem to be using it.
