4.0.4 Skips Hang Playback

Did you have to do anything special to see that behavior? I've just tried playing it here and did a bit of skipping around, and I'm not seeing anything unusual.

Do you see this problem every time you play this file? Do you need to skip or resume or anything?

No, I just selected it from the menu and clicked "Play" on the popup screen. I did it 3 or 4 times to check it. Even "Unwatched" it to reset to the beginning of the file.

I have seen this also ... but the symptoms are really weird ... I start to play the recording and the video is immediately in fast forward but the audio sounds normal. I press stop and go to another recording and the video plays normally but there is no sound. I stop and start NextPVR and play the second recording first and all is normal and then I play the recording that had fast-forwarded and that plays normally also. I was able to duplicate the behaviour but I haven't yet had time to document the problem properly or make chunks of recordings. Maybe tomorrow.

Today, I was not able to reproduce the fast-forward behavour ... but I did get a repeatable example of a recording starting with no audio sometiomes but not others. The updated tsreadfer fixed that and I was not able to get a recording to start without audio.

Hi sub, yes I can now play that episode and others, along with shows from other channels without the instant-fast-forward response. So far that patch (from post #272) is working quite well.

This build of the reader fixes an issue I found looking remotely at HarryH3's machine, that could cause a freeze during skipping. Give it a go to see if it helps.

This build also includes a couple of other recent fixes - corruption at the bottom of H.264 video frames, and a crash that could occur during reception issues.

Latest TSReader4 fixed my NEXTPVR crashing on broken broadcast. Thank you. Not the only program with problems with broken video. When I couldn't play back shows, I tried converting them to MP4s with "Bigasoft Total Video Converter" and that worked with one show but the next one the video froze and the audio continued at the broken location.

I upgrade to 4.0.4 a couple weeks back. Had to switch to the legacy decoder due to skipping issues, primarily in larger recordings (NFL games).

Just started getting playback hanging now with the legacy option checked. Logs attached, this one hung in the exact same place in the playback 2x. I had to use task manager to kill NPVR both times.

So far, the reader dated Nov 27 has been working flawlessly here.
