Did this fix make the latest release? 4.0.5.171208

The NPVRTSReader4.ax fix worked well for me.

I updated NPVRTSReader4.ax on 4.0.4 and still had hanging on skipping forward. I updated to the latest 4.0.4 and then 4.0.5 and still have this problem. Selecting legacy reader and demuxer didn't resolve.

However, I can skip forward and backward, long skips and short, when I use the keyboard commands [Ctrl]f, [Ctrl][->], etc. Is this the same problem or something different?

My recordings, even in-progress recordings, skip forward and back with my remote fine when I playback with Kodi.

My Irremote.ini setting is FASTFWD={app(0x310000)} though changing it to FASTFWD={ctrl}F didn't fix the issue.

Thanks.

It appears to be something different. If the Hauppauge program ir.exe is working correctly and the irremote.ini is correct ... pressing a button on the remote is perceived by NextPVR as you pressing keys on the keyboard ... NextPVR is unaware that you are using a remote.

Did you restart ir.exe after making the change?

Yes, I did restart the Hauppauge IR remote programafter changing Irremote.ini.

Further investigation, Arrow Right on my remote (NAVRIGHT={Right} in Irremote.ini) skips forward one minute and pauses playback.

I will continue to investigate the remote control settings. Strange that it would give me problems the last few months as Irremote.ini hadn't changed in a couple of years before I started my troubleshooting.

Whilst the latest release (4.0.5) is much more stable than previously, there is still a periodic problem with skip.

Playing a recorded HD .ts file, if I hit skip on the remote (FF being set to 30secs skip), the video & audio jump the required amount and play resumes correctly.

If I press skip a number of times (waiting for the skip to complete before pressing again), after a few presses audio resumes correctly but the video goes into fast forward racing ahead of the audio.
Sometimes pressing pause/play or skip back fixes the problem but other times you have to stop play and start from the resume point (which is where the audio was up to).

If you use the skip back to regain the correct video, the picture pixelates briefly every few seconds until you press stop and then restart play.

This problem was present in previous releases although seems to happen less frequently in 4.0.5.

I can't spot any errors in the logs but have attached relevant section.

Just a thought.....are the selected codecs relevant to this issue?
I'm using the default Microsoft ones for video MPEG2 and H264 playback

That's my question also. Is the new ts reader tuned specifically for LAV?

The focus was having it work well with the Microsoft and LAV decoders, but others should work too. There is nothing to say there aren't quirks in some broaadcaster's streams that make it not play so nicely with a certain decoder.

I'm happy to download a recording that exhibits strange behaviour, so I can try replicating it here, and hopefully fixing.

For me it's not consistent with a particular recording (i.e. can't predict if it will happen when skipping) however some seem more prone than others. I'll try and stop her who must be obeyed from deleting the next one we have fun with and I'll arrange to send you the file.

Ray.
