I am with everyone else dottore - I think that this is the nicest looking skin and I bet for each response that is posted saying this you will find another 10+ that feel the same way but just haven't posted their opinion Wink I totally appreciate all the work you have done so far doing the upkeep and support Wink

Thanks again

Very good news to hear dottore won't let the skin die just yet Big Grin

I made a few more changes in my version to bring it up to date with the new release, see attached.

I have to say that I really like this skin, too, but I have never been able to get it to work. Would love to be using it though!

Even using acidfiend's modified version (since I'm running v0.95.14), I still cannot get GB-PVR to run after selecting the skin in Config. The only error in any of the logs that I can find is in the gbpvr.exe.log file:

12/4/2005 8:12:54 PM.375 ERROR [2] Unable to find node: /settings/SpecialElements/SpecialElement[@name="Inset"]

Did a search on various parts of that, but didn't find anything. Anyone know what this is or if it's even related to the skin? I can't find a "/settings" folder in my GB-PVR installation (duh, could that be the problem?). Anyone know what generates the above folder structure?

I'm running very basic/default plugins:

- TV Guide
- Fast Find
- Recordings
- Live TV
- Video Library
- Music Library
- Picture Library
- Weather
- Exit

Is there something basic I'm not doing to get this skin working? I've tried a new download of the skin each time there was a GB-PVR upgrade and then multiple times for each version, but I've never been able to get it to work. No immediate error message or anything -- GB-PVR just won't load. I always just fall back to my own modified version of the Blue skin, but I sure would like to be able to use this fancy schmancy skin! Wink

It's got to be one of the plugins. The one that jumps out at me is "Fast Find". I don't recognize that one, and can't find a link to it on the wiki so perhaps it's out of date.

Look in the gbpvr.exe.log file. There will be something showing why it didn't load. It may be the missing ProcAmp.xml file; see post #3 of this thread.

Well, that's annoying. I re-extracted acidfiend's modified version on a whim, and now everything works fine. Nothing like a good ol' random problem, eh? Back when I was in the tech business, we used to call it "self-correcting" and charge more for it. Big Grin

Thanks for the suggestions, guys!

fastfind is now called xguide. xrecord is more or less supported by the skin. since i don't use it, it is difficult to skin.....it would be really good, if someone using xrecord could skin the x-things.

i'll have a look at acidfiend2003's changes and will hopefully release an updated version this week.

I'm using an even smaller set of plugins here - just the default ones + the weather plugin, and I've even removed FM radio and Net radio from my list. I don't even really understand skinning all that well either, so my modications are *very* basic - here's a list of everything I changed if it will help Dottore:-

1. Restyled the pop-up and dialog frames a little
2. Resized the wide pop-up bitmap to make it taller
3. Added the ProcAmp.xml and BaseSkin.xml files provided elsewhere on this forum
4. Fixed the font issue with the resume dialog (OSD.xml and BaseSkin.xml)
5. Created a new bitmap for a large button without focus (menu_list_nofocus.png)
6. Modified BaseSkin.xml to show unfocussed buttons
7. Added the status strip to the top of the TV Guide (skin.xml) but I'm not convinced it looks all that great
8. Copied the task images from The Collection, colourizing them to match the skin

Apart from that, I haven't touched a thing. Right at the moment I'm having trouble with the Recordings delete confirmation popup that might be skin related, I'll be checking that out later.

Cheers
Dave
