sub Wrote:Yes, thats part of the problem I can see in your logs. You're trying to use the Cyberlink decoder with VMR9, but this combination does not usually work until you add a couple of Cyberlink registry settings. This decoder is only compatible with Overlay by default. If you google for "Cyberlink registry EnableVMR9" you should find the specific registry settings.
I found this on this page here:

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/uploads/Config/H...nk.reg.txt

i renamed it to a .reg file and merged it, rebooted as per instructions, and no luck with osd.
Quote:I'm guessing if you try another audio decoder this problem will go away.
I have two options, system default, and mpeg2 something, and both don't fix the problem Sad

Quote:This sounds like you dont have an divx/xvid decoder installed.
Damn, i could have sworn that i did. ANyway, did it,a nd problem solved there Smile
Quote:Can you post a screenshot? Maybe you're using large fonts?
And so i was Smile that's fixed too

Cheers

will post screenies shortly

Try the default blue skin. That might be a skin issue.

I didnt know someone had added that to the wiki. I've purposefully not detailed the exact registry setting before since I know it have varied in some versions of the Cyberlink decoder at that time - I'm guessing its still not compatible.

What version of the Cyberlink decoder are you using? (or what installed it)

Anyway, reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe-native.log. Its easy for me to tell in this log if your version of the Cyberlink decoder is compatible with VMR or not. Your previous log showed it definitely was not compatible.

System default and the other one are likely to be one and the same. Install another one and use that.

Now the final problem:

Fast audio playback for some satellite channels. The audio is so fast it sounds like a chipmunk

Cheers Smile

hmm, i formatted the pc, and installed gbpvr, mediaportal, divx player and bsplayer. never installed anything else, so one of these installed it.

I'm not very clear about this decoder stuff, but where can i download another video/audio decoder? Is there any you would recommend? Where can i find the current decoder version/details etc.

I may as well use overlay mode i guess? Is there any disadvantages?

thanks again

Hard to what version it is then. Most people get a nice modern version when they install PowerDVD.

Yes, you can just switch to Overlay instead. You dont lose much. The OSD doesnt look as nice (bit chunky, not semi-transparent).

perfect, got that working too.

When i installed PowerDVD, i got another option in 'audio decoder', and i tried that, and now i get no audio for those channels.

The rest are still fine.

The OSD certainly looks better Smile

When the OSD display shows the channel name and time, is it at all possible to show the channel number as well?

and when i type in channel numbers, can it be moved to somewhere other than the bottom left corner?

Cheers
