Quote:A box called "Tuning Settings" comes up at start up. Its drop down list does not include the Nova-S however, so if I change country and OK it, it complains " Failed to find crossbar filter. Wrong device type?"
I'm not sure what you're doing here. It sounds like you've tried running the 'Tuning assistant utility'. This is only for analog cards, so not relevent for your Nova-S Plus.

Quote:Fair enough, but why isn't the Nova-s in the list when it is in the Config application?
Where exactly are you talking about? I see it listed in the config app.

I didn't do it intentionaly. How do I turn off the 'Tuning assistant utility'?

What I mean is the Nova-s appears as an option in the drop down list in the source tab when you run "config". The Nova-S does not appear in the drop down choice in the 'Tuning assistant utility'. I was wondering why?

I'm bit confused. It sounds to me like you've run the tuning assistant, were confused about an error you, and are now asking about turning off the Tuning Assitant. The answer: just dont run the tuning assistant - you dont need it. Its only for analog cards.

The Tuning Assisant is only for analog cards so it doesnt list digital cards like the Nova-S.

The Tuning Assisant is only for analog cards so it doesnt list digital cards like the Nova-S.

Understood, but like I said before, I did not knowingly or intentionaly run the "tuning assistant". It appears to start up on its own when I start gbpvr or it might be when I click on Live TV, I'm not sure which.

Do you know of anything which would cause it to start up on its own by default?

I think your need to give me a better a description of what you're seeing. This is too vague.

Tell me exactly your tried doing, and post a screenshot of the message you got on the screen.

You had correctly diagnosed the problem and now that I have tracked it down, I don't see how you could even imagine what I had done wrong. I had somehow pointed to the tuning assistant(.exe) in the settings for channel changer :o . Thanks for your patience.

So, now I know it all can work on this PC, I'm waiting for some cable and a quad LNB to do the job properly, instead of this lash-up.
