I'm frikkin' depressed! The dual recordings had no audio on EITHER channel.

What a waste of money. I've removed the second card from GBPVR so I can at least use the programme.

When you try to record to shows at once, then look in the GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log, it reports some Hauppauge product information about the device including the tuner model etc. I suspect you'll find you've got two different tuners models, and in this case I think they've got some bugs that can lead to audio problems like those you describe.

If you supply this info (attach the GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log), I'll ask Hauppauge.

Thanks, Sub. You're tops. Here is the log, and yes, they are different. I only hope there is a resolution. This log shows two abbreviated test recordings.

Ok, I've emailed them about this. Hopefully they'll come back with something - sometimes they dont.

In the meantime, have you tried the most recent drivers from: http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?topic=10654.0

Hauppauge came back with the following initial comments.

Quote:
Nothing strikes me as an obvious problem. Can you please find out what driver version? I'd like to get an idea of what he is using. If we are going to debug an issue it will likely be much easier to use a recent driver. I'm actually releasing an internal driver today for testing. I may give you that or some other more recent driver.

Let's start by finding out what he is using today.

Also,
1. Each works independently in GBPVR if the other is not present?
2. What about if you have both installed but only configure one in you app (is that possible)?
3. Has he tried any other apps?
Can you try to answer as much of that as possible, and I'll work through it with Hauppauge.

Yes, Sub. They are the drivers I installed which lead to my latest failed attempt.

Could it be in any way related to Realtek ALC850 drivers?

Maybe. I dont know really.

Try an answer those questions above for Hauppauge and I'll see if we can find anything.

Sorry about the delay in responding. It's been a busy week: 'Life, the universe, and everything'

1. Yes. I've removed the original 150MCE card & installed the latest drivers (from http://www.shspvr). Everything works in both WinTv & GBPVR.

2. Yes. It does work in that configuration. Can you force which card will be installed first in GBPVR config? I will reinstall the original card & try it again, in the belief it will default to the latest card.

3. No. I have not but am D/L SageTV to see if it will function properly. May take a while; I'm still on 54kbs

Still has the same issue with SageTV.

Any further communication from Hauppauge?

Could the issue be OS specific (XPPro w SP2)? ie. could MCE2005 operate differently to avoid the problem? I realise MCE is supposed to be just a multimedia-kind version of XP Pro.
