Those "Con's" shouldnt be there for streaming mode. I only use streaming mode on my client PC and I have no problems searching or scheduling recordings.

Works for me on XP clients. I do most of my scheduling this way.

Update: I needed to check "Allow Network Users to Change My Files" box in the Sharing tab of the GBPVR folder on the client machine. Scheduling recordings through the TV Guide now works.

My bad.

I have been running GBPVR successfully on a PC. Recently I bought a laptop and wanted to set that up as a client. I installed GBPVR and set it up as Client. It opens to show the main meu. However when I click on TV Guide, Recordings or Live TV all that happens is that it flashes up the TV Guide/Recordings menu/live TV and immediately rteturns to the main menu. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Some facts:
SERVER
Name: //JOHN2/
PC running Windows 2000
GBPVR v0.98.8b
All files shared and can be seen on the Laptop

CLIENT
Name: Laptop
OS Windows Vista
GBPVR v1.0.16
Unable to see the GBPVR file on the Server. Tried sharing but it still doesn't show. Vista appears only to allow sharing of media files. Help!!
Client box ticked on Config screen
Set to streaming
Server set to //JOHN2/
Recording Share and TV Buffer Share greyed out.
Database Share set to //JOHN2/gbpvr
Firewall 'OFF'
OS: Windows XP SP2
Processor: CeleronD 2.66GHz
2x WINTV Nova-T
GBPVR v1.3.11
MVP D3a
Dongle Default

Just to make sure: you did make a share named gbpvr (c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr) on your server?
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

I believe so. I clicked on Sharing on the c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr folder and then ticked 'share this folder' and then made the 'Share name' gbpvr'. this folder shows on the Client computer as 'gbpvr' and I am able to access a text file in the folder edit the file and resave the edited file.

If you zip and attach the client logs, I'll see if I cant tell you what you've set wrong.

It looks like you're using a different version of the application on the client. They need to be running the same version.

You've also got the machine name wrong. It's current set to 'JOHN2\' and should be 'JOHN2'.
