Phil, did you try running the DeviceTypeCheck tool yet? It's available here:

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...eTypeCheck

My 500 definitely shows up as one tuner with FM and one without, just as shown in the 2nd picture on that page.
i3-3570k, 8GB RAM, Win10 Pro, Nvidia GT710, HDHomeRun (OTA), NPVR 6.x
On a clear disk, you can seek forever...

HarryH3 - I get slightly different result from DeviceTypeCheck:

device #1 is PVR500 with FM
device #2 is PVR500 with FM

I guess this means gbpvr is detecting two devices, which I kind of already knew, since both tuners are recording. Don't know why my result is slightly different from yours (and others). Maybe different version of Windows (I'm using 2000)? Different version of gbpvr (1.3.11)? Different version of the pvr500 card? Driver problem? Thank you.

sub - No doubt you're right, it's "something" I'm missing. I'm just trying to figure out what it is. Appreciate the input from you and the others.

stustutz - I tried what you suggested - recording 2 shows from TV Guide and playing from there. It works correctly if I start the recordings manually (e.g. with the Quick Rec button) at slightly different times; if I schedule both recordings to start automatically at the same time, gpbvr still reverses the recording files. Actually, this does suggest a workaround -- I can reverse my device numbering so that I don't have the switched simultaneous recording problem. Then, instead of using Live TV (which does not work once I reverse the device numbering) I can record the show I want to view from TV Guide and then play it. It's clunky -- I end up watching a few seconds later than "Live" and I have a .mpg file to delete manually every time I watch -- but it seems to work. What's really strange is that recording and replaying works correctly, but just hitting the "Watch" button (which would be much less clunky) does NOT work (it apparently somehow displays the channel from the non-visible tuner, just as Live TV does). Seems very strange that two buttons on the very same TV Guide screen would operate differently - one correctly displaying the selected channel, the other displaying a different channel. I can't imagine what would cause that kind of mixup. I will try your idea of reinstalling the driver, or trying another driver version when I have some time. Thanks.

thats just weird
i still reckon you should change the drivers on one device in device manager and then it would be all sorted

Its nothing to do with device number. Just ignore them. As long as you've one capture source setup as device number #1 and the other setup as device #2, then its set correctly. It doesnt matter which is which.

Reproduce the problem, confirm it recorded a show other than the one you wanted, then zip and attach the GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log and GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log, along with a brief description of what channel you wanted to record, but what really recorded, and I'll take a look.

sub - Everything is fine if I just record one show. The problem occurs when I record two shows simultaneously - things get switched around. I reproduced the problem and the logs you specified are attached.

The recordings I selected:
1. CBS Evening News, Channel 2, 8:00pm, 30 minutes
2. Lost, Channel 7, 8:00pm, 60 minutes

The recordings I got:
1. Filename: CBS Evening Newxxxx.mpg, File Contents: Lost (first 30 minutes only), Channel 7. When I playback the file, the on-screen text description says CBS News, but the recording (audio and video) is the first half of Lost
2. Filename: Lostxxxx.mpg, File Contents: CBS News (30 minutes) plus 30 minutes of whatever show came on following CBS News on Channel 2. When I playback the file, the on-screen text description says Lost, but the actual audio and video is CBS News plus the following show.

Thanks for your help, phil.

stustunz - Interesting. Though I would think I should be ok, seeing as how I do apparently have 2 working tuners.

Can you tell me what driver version you are using for the pvr500, or perhaps even attach a copy? You had suggested I try a driver change, which seems worth a shot. Thanks, phil.

i googled your model number and it seems others with the same card had the same tuners so i guess thats just how they made them although they also said the samsung tuners (which you have one of according to your logs) are crap
my driver version is 2.0.48.25037
but i wouldnt even know where the install files are on my machine
i googled the number and here seems to be a place to download
sorry have to go but will find them later for you

have you used any other software with the card ?

also what does your card look like type A or Type B in this link http://forums.snapstream.com/vb/showthread.php?t=33675

another thing to try is go into device manager and disable one of the tuners then open config goto edit tuner... tick box that says only show devices on this machine see if any show
then enable it again and disable the other tuner and do the same
because to me it seems like one or the other is not been seen right in gbpvr

looking at your logs shows the samsung one without a fm tuner so in config one should be showing as pvr500

Thanks. I did briefly try SageTV, but was not impressed.

It looks like I have a Type B card. Now that you mention it, it does seem that my picture is decent on one tuner, and somewhat grainy on the other (as other Type B users observed). Not enough to bother me, though.
