Weather2 Support Thread

I installed Weather2 and it runs OK on my PC but it doesn't even appear on the Main Menu in GBPVR on my MVP. I power cycled the MVP and it still doesn't include Weather2 on its menu. I am using version 1.3.11 of GBPVR.

I use the Community-SD skin for both the PC and MVP. I even tried changing the MVP to the Blue skin but it still doesn't list Weather2 on the menu.

Before I released it I wondered if it worked on a MVP... grrrr.
I don't have an MVP to test, and I don't know if I needed to do something in particular to make it work on the MVP. I can look into it though.

Running W7 x64, I got an error on first install that flew by. I reinstalled and it completed. Then I get the enclosed error. I opened config and all the plugins were missing. Even uninstalling from control panel crapped out.
I can give more info if needed and am sorry to rush, got a meal and a cold beer waiting.

I got an error same as pconstanza - logs included. Also, when firing up Config, the Plugin's box was completely blank - although they all seem still to be installed.

Same here.....on Win XP SP2.....but I am running a new beta of GBPVR.

Copying over to Blue Retro SHV from blue worked good. FYI.

Wow, W7 and x64... it maybe the installer doesn't work with that OS. I'll have to find out.

But the error is interesting because the value of that numeric shouldn't be zero, ever... I will double-check.

When I have time, I'll boot into XP and Vista (also x64) and see what happens there too.

It is likely to be 20deg C but you don;t get snow until a) it's winter and b) the temp drops to close to 0 deg C.

I was wondering whether 20deg C was being interpreted by the plugin as 20F and so displaying the snow icon?

My guess is that there is a conflict with the old weather icons and the new ones. I have a different weather icon map than the old one, so it could be they are mapped wrong. And I use the media/WeatherIcon folder, as does the old weather plugin.

I didn't think of this until a couple hours ago.

If you need just the icons, I can put them on the wiki.

I like it & it actually has a forecast for little old us (Masterton) way out in the hicks of NZ

Unfortunately I have a problem, it keeps popping up a message about Weather2XmlSerializers.dll missing, if I click OK about six times it seems to then work fine, but if I don't click multiple OK's GB doesn't open at all. Logs attached.

It also doesn't show on the main menu on my NMT

Do you get the popup error in PVRX2 or in Config?

I will get you a different installer tomorrow, and see if that helps. It looks like the installer doesn't have permissions to overwrite the WizTools in the Plugin/common folder, and it causing the installer error.

Is there possibly some file permission thing going on?

More testing feedback... Would be nice to set a default profile at startup so it always starts with a particular location (city), then cycle through the others. For now to deault to the one I want, I make it my last entered profile, it opens to the last one I made.

Note: When the Save button is selected, the current profile selected in the Profile drop-down box will be the default profile (the default profile is the profile that is initially loaded when the plug-in starts).

Also "Weather Alert" is active in my area at the time of this writing, and the Alert Button did not appear, it did for another though.

Alerts are weird... that has to do with AccuWeather mainly. Even on their website you can have an alert, but it says it has been canceled, and vice versa.

Do you get the popup error in PVRX2 or in Config?

I get it about four times when I close config(this may have something to do with starting two MVP/NMT servers?) also the popup just shows up randomly when GB isn't started. When I start GB then it just keeps popping up about six times & GB won't actually start unless I keep clicking OK.
