Can you also post the logs showing a video decoder other than ffdshow?

Your output looks correct. Its normal to see the default "unknown source aspect ratio...showing full frame" message in the log when playback starts (before the aspect ratio is known), followed by the identified aspect ratio a few hundred milliseconds later, ie "source is 4:3".

I used the Purevideo codec and played the file.

Ok, but it does stay full screen until the resume is hit.

Yeah, quite possibly. As soon as it starts playing though it should switch to the correct aspect ratio.

Thanks, I suspect if you do find the problem, it's related anyhow.

athomas, can you apply the attached patch, create a c:\temp directory, and set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Devnz\LogFlowPackets=1, then play that file, then zip and attach the c:\temp\flow.txt file?

After that, you'll want to either delete the registry setting, or set it to zero.

We can hope, but I suspect not. Aspect ratio of AVI files is treated very differently to .mpg/.ts/.dvr-ms files.

Here is the flow.txt file. It shows "Received packet of size 2024". The odd time it also receives 2012.
