After several months and my comments spread across several threads I thought I'd provide another update. First and probably the most important to me is Syabas introduced a new model the A210 http://www.popcornhour.com/onlinestore/i...nItemId=24 which addresses one of my biggest concerns about the A200 the potential for noise. At $200 it's not the cheapest extender but if you can live with a fan the $180 A200 still is available (probably only as long as people choose it over the A200)
Recently two other Syabas firmware updates for the 200 have arrived, an updated SDK and the new integrated jukebox (NMJ) and I now believe that I am not chasing a moving target. Syabas have provided me with all the information I need to make a client so the pressure is on me now. I am changing my focus to concentrate on HDMI since I expect this will cut my development and testing a lot. All NMT's do a good job of hardware transcoding most formats from HD to SD but the demand for CRT support is sliding. SD users should opt for the 100 series. Finally as a side project I will be writing an application to populate NMJ with meta data, images and a filename, in post/parallel processing. NMT is not a bad way of looking at NPVR recordings http://www.popcornhour.com/onlinestore/i...ct=nmjPage while you wait for me. Martin

When is this new A210 supposed to be available? if that was working like my A100 I'd probably upgrade quite quickly.

That is great news. I look forward to seeing a client for npvr on the a200. I have hardly had an issue with npvr and the other popcorns that I have. Once again I thank you for all your efforts. Dave

Martin,
This sounds very interesting - I am about to migrate from a CRT to a LCD HD TV and had been pondering the best way to connect my PVR though to this. Having read the A-210 specs it seems this could be the ideal client - certainly more cost effective than upgrading my old PC (and it looks like thye will be on sale in the UK also at AMP3). Gary

I haven't even set up the required linux development environment, if it doesn't work from my old A200 source, I figure I won't even know whether or not a client is possible before the new year. Excellent news Martin! Anytime you're ready for testers I'll EAGERLY volunteer to test with my C200.

Looking forward to this as well, I have an original xbox running xbmc that I need to replace with something but I'm not willing to give up comskip support. This would be an ideal solution for me.
Keep up the good work Martin!

Any notable advantages for an A-210 vs a refurb A110? I'm thinking of upgrading my MVP, and don't mind paying extra if the newer model has benefits for NPVR.
thanks!
