Your file is missing a mpeg pack header at the beginning. I found the first one at 0x7f2 and I cut up to it and it works.

now why would those be missing?
any idea as to how to fix? would remux fix?

yep, remux with ffmpeg fixed it...plays now without cutting..
had to add -f vob to make it work tho...

yikes, to do this on all my sd recordings...oh well, coulda been worse...at least i don't have to re-encode..Smile

tried mpegcorrector and it didn't work...
tried vcdgear and it didn't work...
know any program that can change mpeg type without re-encode?
i think possibly would do the trick..

The file is not corrupt which is why it isn't a straight forward "fix". If sub doesn't want to adjust for it, I can whip a utility up.

that would be excellent cuz while ffmpeg is fast [600+fps] it's gonna take a while for as many sd recs as i have...
so far the only thing to fix is a remux with a -f vob so ffmpeg re-creates the pack headers..
[or discards the ones without one]

Ok, if sub tells us that he isn't going to change this, I will get something to you.

To be honest, I dont see what I could change. If you cant connect the 'File Source (Async)' and 'MPEG2 Demultiplexer' in graphedit, then you're probably out of luck with the original files, and will need to correct the files so they play.

The graph would work if you pass it either to GBPVRParser.ax or the splitter as pBS said instead of the mpeg2 demux. I don't know if you could make that as an option for mpeg-ps files?
