Ok, tried recording. No video. Sound is fine.
Do you want me to upload something for you?

OK, thats just a few seconds of video and it's a big file. I have a slow connection, going to be a while. The ts played back perfectly in vlc and mpc.
I will edit this post with the url when it's uploaded. Don't hold your breath.

Probably best to post a new post instead of editing an old one - otherwise the forum software wont mark it as new, and I'll never see it.

I think someone asked what video card you have, and I don't see any answer... it would be good to know.

OK, sorry for stupid questions but I like to know a little more before sticking yet more stuff on my pc...
I have read the info on the mediaportal thread but just to recap. I should remove ffdshow, divx, xvid, and other media players like media player classic, vlc before installing SAF? Yes? or yes and no?

Well, it is up to you. SAF have FFDshow and MPC-HC integrated, there is no reason to install it twice.
FFDshow is really good to decode xvid/divx, so there is no reason to have separate decoders installed (until you want to encode to xvid/divx for example in VirtualDub).
There is a lot of other software capable to dominate over your system and mess it with unwanted filters or background services like NERO or older PDVD...

VLC is not DirectShow based player it have nohing to do with SAF.

Thats what I am trying to ask, I don't see any need to have anything installed twice :-)

So I can uninstall my ffdshow and mpc before installing saf. VLC is nothing to do with anything and I can leave it alone. I should also uninstall any codec packs, I think I have only one installed hd pack which had arcsoft codecs in. I do use Virtual dub for encoding so will leave my divx and xvid alone.

And the unlocking bit. Do I need to install saf before asking you for the unlocking or can you point me to a unlocked version? Do I need an unlocked version?

Sorry if all this seems obvious to you!
