Not sure I quite follow which line in the syntax check is wrong? I deleted all the network shares on the NMT, then re-added: Name: mvp URL: smb://MEDIACENTER-W7/mvpmc username: (blank) password: (blank). Then unplugged the NMT and plugged it back in. Once it was up, tried the new share an got the same error.

When you re-added it, did you leave the "Share Name" field blank and let the NMT software auto fill it to MEDIACENTER-W7:mvpmc ?

That fixed it. Thanks again for all your help. do you run the mvpmc.org site? I'm not sure who can edit the dummies guide but maybe adding details about adding the network share, and the output not being auto might help someone in the future. Also I noticed the link to the NMTInstall2.exe file doesn't work on the wiki guide.

Thanks for getting back to me, I should have noticed that right off, but it's been a while. At least we confirmed all the other pieces worked and you learned a little more about your new toy in the process.

As for mvpmc.org, that is run be someone else and it will be dieing shortly, so I expect I will be moving all the NMTInstall2 files to the wiki. Both your issues where in the Dummies Guide thread (the blank Share Name was in a followup post) but haven't made it to the wiki. I suggest you join in with McBainUK and your suggestions, he doesn't even own an NMT, and he is looking for ideas from people to help him out. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...umentation to make the wiki better.

Sounds good I will shoot him a message about the wiki. I was going to donate a few dollars to mvpmc.org since I thought that was run by you in appreciation for all your help.

Now that you have it all up & running properly you may want to have a look at the "NMT Useful tips - a whole page of NMT related tips, including how to automatically start NextPVR."

http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...UsefulTips

section on the NMT page on the wiki (that is where my auto start scripts that Martin referred to earlier are)

No problem, I owe you a drink for the bad support I gave. Do consider the button at the top of this page, sub keeps our NMT's running.

Yes tomorrows task is auto-boot, getting the harmony remote all straight, and then playing with video settings to get the right screen size/ratio. In the mean time the wife has approved of the fact that it doesn't crash after each video played (issue ffmpeg transcoding and the old MVP).

I use the play all feature in a video folder (pressing play when on the .. icon). In doing this with the NMT there is no way to get out of the play all. I tried the stop button, and it stops that video, but then moves onto the next one. Is there an Exit button that will take me back to the menu? I tried most of the buttons on the NMT remote but didn't find one that would work. Not too big an issue since typically the wife hits play all and then goes to sleep.

As always thanks again for the help, and I will drop a few dollars toward sub. He still needs to setup a way in paypal to do a reoccurring donation. It would be great if I could setup a $5 a month automatic donation.

I just tried this here and it works. Upload you MVP.log and I will have a look. Actually I think I see it, I think you are trying to play a folder of files that aren't mpeg, which is something I never do, I will do some more testing.

I attached the logs. I tried it yesterday, so I'm not sure if it is in the logs or not. Yes I am playing non-mpeg files in the folder.
