Here they are. I hope you find something.
I found out that Autocad installed my .NET v4. And autocad works without problems. Maybe that info helps?

Thanks. I was hoping to see if the logs showed any reference to the "Culture=nl-NL" i saw in the nDroidService.log but I can't find any unfortunately. Never mind.

Instead of building a new service installer, I've zipped and attached just the binary files. Stop the nDroid Service and unzip the files into the ndroid install folder. If you then restart the service and zip / attach the logs I'll take a look.

Cheers,
Brian

Brian,

Here are the logs.
And now the good news: it works! I haven't tested it extensively, but I get passed the rotating circle.
I do have a problem with nDroid, I can only use the tv guide. When I press the home button, I get back to android. Maybe I just don't understand correct.

I tried nDroid TE and that works better for me. I can watch tv and everything (so far tested). I do have 1 question already: is it possible to just watch a channel without choosing a program in tv guide?

Thanks for the help Brian, good work!

Oh, and 1 more question: how can I make nDroid (TE) use the external ip-address instead of local lan?

Hi Wim,

That's good news indeed.
Quote:I do have a problem with nDroid, I can only use the tv guide. When I press the home button, I get back to android. Maybe I just don't understand correct.
What is the make/ model of your Android device? Older devices have a MENU button (either physical or on-screen) - this will bring up options to choose. The MENU button approach was removed in Android v3 so any later devices designed for v3.x and later have a different approach - you should see a vertical line of 3 dots which will activate the options menu.

Quote:I tried nDroid TE and that works better for me. I can watch tv and everything (so far tested).
If the TE version is better for you then stick with that - I don't intend to do any more development of the original nDroid v1.x version.

Not with the current release version but the next release allows a long-press on a channel name to go straight to live TV.

That's more complicated and I need to do more work on that. Because TE was originally designed for tablets (many of which only have wifi) I haven't really looked at the mobile internet side of things. One thing which should work though - if you have a static IP address for your broadband router, you can enter that in the wifi address settings box.

Cheers,
Brian

Hi Brian,

Sorry for the late response, but I've been in bed with fever since my last post.

I have a Samsung galaxy note 10.1 (not the new 2014 version). I now see the three lines and the menu, sorry I'm very new to android (2 months).

I thought the TE version wasn't developed as far as it is. I'll stick to the TE version.

When will this next release be? Can't wait.

I actually didn't mean via mobile internet, but via WIFI on another network. But would that make a difference???

I have a static ip. It works with NEWA on my windows laptop (via WIFI on the network at my office), so it should work with nDroid too I guess.
I entered the external ip-adress in the mobile adress entry, but the connection still went over local ip (192.168.2.1). That's why I asked how to switch between them. But maybe that's a stupid question, I don't know. Maybe when it can't find a connection on the local ip, it would automatically search on the external ip? I am not clear enough to think this through now.

I haven't checked this yet, but will do when I'm going back to work next week (otherwise I can't test properly).

I think there is a problem with the epg-data (if I remember correct: in the morning hours 1 show is repeated several times). Oh yes and one more wish from me: that the tv guide shows the data from the current time (if I remember correct that isn't the case but I might be wrong). I'll check these as soon as possible.

Have you figured out now what was the problem with my .NET installation?

Thanks for all the help and the beautiful app!

By the way, how is work in the kitchen? Fixed the leak and everything cleaned up?

No problem. I hope you're feeling better.

Quote:I have a Samsung galaxy note 10.1 (not the new 2014 version). I now see the three lines and the menu, sorry I'm very new to android (2 months).
That was part of the problem with the original nDroid v1.x as it wasn't particularly intuitive to use on later devices and Android versions. Hopefully I'm gradually moving to a better look and feel.

Quote:I thought the TE version wasn't developed as far as it is. I'll stick to the TE version.
There's still a long way to go and it has nDroid v1.x code in it which I'm taking out bit by bit.

Quote:When will this next release be? Can't wait.
Whenever I fix a time frame for another release something goes wrong so I won't give a definite answer. I've been working on the Search facility but ran into a problem I haven't been able to solve yet. I'll be reviewing the code over the weekend and may just release a minor release with some bug fixes and a few new features.

OK, that's what I meant but you'll need to go to Settings and change your local WLAN IP address to your static broadband IP address when you're at work. If your work WLAN will route the connection out to your home then it should be OK.

Yes, they're a couple of things I'm looking at fixing.

Quote:Have you figured out now what was the problem with my .NET installation?
It was my fault (at least to a certain extent). Your .NET installation is fine but my code was intercepting attempts to find locale specific versions of system dlls. The change I made was to ignore those attempts and .NET simply works it out for itself.

Quote:Thanks for all the help and the beautiful app!
I'm glad you like it.

Well it took a week to get everything dried out, everything back in place and a new water hose fitted but...yes, we have our kitchen back how it should be. Big Grin

Brian

Brian,

I tried my external, static, ip adress in the wifi setting, but vlc player gave me an error and wasn't able to play the stream (while it could play via local lan).

I also tried but couldn't play back recordings. Same error in vlc.

There's a constant notification in android of ndroidte epg downloading files. There seems to be an application running constantly.

Then a couple of wishes:
1. Already mentioned before: epg data shown around the current time, not the first of the day
2. Recordings menu opening with Ready recordings instead of recurring (planned) recordings
3. In tv guide, when I press on a show I get the data from the show at the bottom of the screen. It would be handy if there would also be buttons "watch" and "record" (instead of needing to push and hold the button of the show).
4. Already mentioned before: live TV when pushing the channel

Hope you like my info.

Greetings,

Wim

Di you make sure to add port forwarding for both 8790 and 8791 to your broadband router?

Quote:There's a constant notification in android of ndroidte epg downloading files. There seems to be an application running constantly.
Not running continuously as such - there's a background service which normally sleeps but will wake up when a network connection is detected and the EPG hasn't been updated for 24 hours or more. If you see a constant Downloading files message it's probably a bug in my code (I see it sometimes). If you turn off the network and clear the notification then turn the network back on again, does it then do a full download / update?

Quote:Then a couple of wishes:
I'm looking at all of these issues. Number 3 is a tricky one though due to TE working on small screens (phones) so I need to do more with different layouts.

Cheers,
Brian

Fort forwarding was already setup. Looks okay, but will test some more.
I cleared notification, rebooted (thus network off and notification gone) but problem withnotification stays.
