Same for me. One press of the green button opens GB-PVR but I need a second press to bring it into focus. The remote doesn't work otherwise.

Am I right in thinking that using the Irremote.ini that was in the ZIP file should make the remote work even when GB-PVR is not in focus?

Any ideas why it is not working for me?

(Thanks for the help so far - having the green button work is a good start! Smile )

Only suggestion is that to check the drivers level as per another post in this thread. Because with that ini file, it should start up and communicate with GBPVR without it needing to be infocus.

Sorry, I'm sure I'm being really stoopid here, but I've re-read the thread and I don't see what you're referring to. :o

How would I "check the drivers level"?

Thanks.

You're not, I just assumed you could check the level, the post I was referring to was

thanks that was the last (major) issue I had. One funny thing is that the application is not called ir32.exe but just ir.exe (but who cares it works)

I've seen reference to this in other places, and often wondered exactly what this was. I don't have a "restart IR32" or anything similar in my start menu. Can someone tell me what the command is that the restart executes? I installed all of the Hauppauge software, and several updates since then, but nothing has added this shorcut to my menus.

Any help would be appreciated, as currently I have to manually kill the IR process from task manager, and then relaunch it. What a pain!

Thanks!

I'm hitting this issue right now with the 2005 MCE Remote. Re the work around suggested in this thread to provide a way to bring GB-PVR into focus:
onestar Wrote:Here is the full file, with all the other junk as a zipfile

Will this method work for an MCE REMOTE? (Or is it a work-around for only certain GB-PVR remote setups?)

If is doesn't help for the MCE REMOTE, any suggestion for me in this case?

Thanks

This is strictly for the Hauppauge remote that comes witht he PVR150/250/350 cards.

You might be able use the third party HIP or Girder software to enable you to use the MCE remote while GB-PVR is not in the foreground.

BTW, one of the other users (Stephan) has kindly donated a MCE2005 remote. So I'll soon have one of these to play with.

Thanks - BTW refer to my post re the MCE2005 remote and how I eventually got it working (just in the last day or two) if you didn't already catch it

I installed the ini file that was posted, put it in my windows folder, and renamed the old one. When I restarted GBPVR and the IR, the remote stopped working. What'd I do wrong?
I noticed that the link for ver 2.45 of the Hauppauge driver is a different file than the one on the Hauppauge site that I downloaded. What's the difference?

Thanks again!

[see above post]
anybody have an idea of what I did wrong?
It's getting a bit annoying having to manually bring GBPVR back into focus, especially when the wife is using the comp.
