Yeah, could see it out of sync on that short video of your TV playing SNL.

As much as I like the snappy response of NextPVR.exe I stopped using it in v4 since it would not preform will enough for me compared to other clients.

That being said I am pretty sure that for the closed captioning many users in many versions have had trouble with the closed captioning decoder to the point of removing it. I know you enable them but if you rename NPVRCCExtractor.ax to NPVRCCExtractor.old and try skipping how is the sync? I also suggested yauiclient earlier because it has much better CC sync.

I will do the test shortly. I didn't try yauiclient for several reasons:

1) I am used to NextPVR and don't really want to use something different, that may or may not do the same things, and may or may not work with my remote.
2) I took a look at the config info and while I can understand what you're saying, that doesn't mean I can figure out what I need to do.
3) I was hoping that the lack of Resume working was tied to all this and it would come in a quick fix. I was happy with the prior release from last year, and was hoping this was a simple "oops, found it".
4) My needs are simple. I record OTA broadcasts, and watch them, sometimes while they are being recorded, sometimes not. That's it. I don't need 4 screens at once, I just need playback with subtitles (on many things, I don't put them on for some shows or the news. Mostly when characters decide to not enunciate clearly). Everything is setup and works (without this issue), the only show that doesn't record properly (i.e. misses episodes) is This Old House, because they code them with dates that have already happened so they aren't seen as new.

I wasn't trying to switch you to yauiclient, just wanted to show you that you probably don't have to live with bad sync, inaccurate skips without the timing file or poor closed captioning. The libmpv player is assume much more versatile then LAV which still leave a lot for NextPVR.exe to control.

I tried to remap yauicliuent to all the remote keys in NextPVR and the UI the same as NextPVR.exe except for animation, of course this allows it to run on any Windows machine not just the host. Mouse keys are limited. I recently added the ability to use the NextPVR menu keys to select a/v tracks I haven't uploaded that.

You should only need to use the config to default subtitle on or things like AC3 passthough much like configurig LAV.

The resume issue was a simple fix, but wouldn't be causing you any audio/video sync issues.

From memory the attached file should fix the issue with Resume.

I will work on uploading one.

Watching SNL this morning.  I skip a commercial and it is out of sync.  I backup a few frames and then it is in sync.  Then, as it plays it grows further out of sync.  I have to pause, backup, and then it syncs again.  

Is this really confined to me?

Edit - A 30 min program is too big to upload.  In a zip file, it's 2.7gb.  I DM'd you a link.

After about 50 skips, I'm not seeing any obvious sign of sync issues.

It might be worth you running this utility before starting NextPVR, and maybe hit 'copy to clipboard' when it's badly out of sync, so I can see what it's reporting.

So I simply switch to that window, hit copy to Clipboard, and then....?

I replaced both files.  Resume still doesn't work.

UI clients always worke so I think it was the full client which is why I didn't link to any of the updates since sub made the patch.
