Quote:Sub, you must not have a teenager in the house(?) With cell phones, instant messaging, internet-in-general ("required" for school), etc., it's an uphill battle to keep track of what they're doing (which is usually what they're not supposed to be doing).
Admittedly I may change my mind by the time my daugher is a teenager, but I've still got quite a few years. For now I still believe in giving the kids a bit of freedom. I think what they watch on TV would be the least of my concerns...

In deference to Sub's request, the current version of the plugin should also work with values stored within the <PluginSettings> tree using this structure:

Code:
<PluginSettings>
    <MVPTrayIcon>
        <MAC-000DFE003591>
            <MVPName>Upstairs</MVPName>
        </MAC-000DFE003591>
    </MVPTrayIcon>
</PluginSettings>

You control what you can while you can. Yeah...without trying to be condescending, I used to think your way, too. Two teenagers later and I'm estatic about plugins like this one! Rolleyes

I can only get the name to show up if I code the MVPName tag in with the MVP configurations as posted earlier in the thread. I can not get the MVPTrayIcon tagged entry to work.

FYI....nice utility! Big Grin

Good catch! I guess my testing of that particular workaround was a bit suspect Wink

I posted an updated version that should be able to detect the MVPName in either location, as long as it resides under an <MAC-####> node.

This update also includes a blue icon indicating an "idle" state.

Please let me know if you encounter any more problems!

That fixed it. Have you posted this to the Plugins section of the Wiki?

Not yet. I just got set up with a wiki account so I'll try and get a plugin page set up for this over the weekend.

Hmm... not getting the blue Idle state. Even though my MVP's are connected, the icons show red and bubble text says "Not Connected". Shows status correctly when something is being watched though.

I'm not getting the blue idle state either. I am also not getting a label, although it is showing green when a MVP is being used and hovering the mouse pointer shows what is being played (but no MVP label).

The "idle" state is pretty much a guess at this point, since this version of GB-PVR doesn't generate specific MVP connection/disconnection events. The next version should be much more accurate.

In the current build, the tray icon will start out initially as "Not Connected" and red, and will turn green the first time something is actually streamed. When the stream completes, the icon will change to "Idle" and blue and should remain that way until another stream starts, or a disconnection occurs.
