I'll have a look and post the log if you like; however the way i check is to minimise GBPVR and see whether reclock is running (it always shows in the taskbar). When I post the last time it was because I saw reclock being used in the taskbar even after double checking the settings you suggested - thats why I'm thinking somethang be wrong with net radio and audio rendering. Reclock is the prefered system renderer and setting something different in playback seems to make no difference for netradio although it overides with video playback.

I dont know anything about reclock, or how it normally gets in there. You just asked to be able to specify the audio renderer when using net radio, and I said you can already do that.

Yep, seems to be using the audio renderer you specified:
Quote:18:04:40.093 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredAudioRenderer)
18:04:40.171 VERBOSE audio renderer filter: Envy24 Family Audio (WDM)
18:04:41.078 VERBOSE getSetting(ListGraphFilters)
18:04:41.078 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:
18:04:41.078 VERBOSE - ReClock Audio Renderer
18:04:41.078 VERBOSE - Envy24 Family Audio (WDM)
18:04:41.078 VERBOSE - F:\Recorded Television\gbnetradio-2.mp3
18:04:41.078 VERBOSE - MPEG Layer-3 Decoder
18:04:41.078 VERBOSE - MPEG-I Stream Splitter
18:04:41.078 VERBOSE - SOURCE

No worries, it is strange how reclock isn't pulled into the graph when watching video, I think thats shown in my other log file. From how I understand things there should only be 1 renderer present in the graph.

EDIT:

sub Wrote:Netradio will already use the audio renderer specified on the playback tab of the config app, but only when you've got <UseWindowsMediaPlayerForNetRadio>false</UseWindowsMediaPlayerForNetRadio> in config.xml

Strange why I didn't get my head around this before - if you set MediaPlayerForNet to >true< then everything works 'bit perfectly'... (and why shouldn't it when the my music plugin was working well with bit perfect .... doh :o )

ppl - we have a full functioning gbpvr bitperfect setup!! Wink

Reviving an old post here....so now you have bit perfect for music files and netradio, but since you set the "WMPnetradio" option to "true" you don't get neat radio titles, correct? Can you confirm this?

I think I'll try the reclock option for ML2 (anyone have it working?) and leave NetRadio WMP option on false so I can see song titles.

I get net radio info/titles on screen and also within the LCD plugin. Try it and see with the MediaPlayerForNet set to true Smile

If you don't get titles then it may be a quick ghost image of the drive before the next release as I have no idea how I got it to work ....

Didn't work. I have vis on NetRadio now, but no titles. You could sell your config for $$ if you figure out what you did Smile

Going to play with reclock now to see if I can get bit perfect with ML2.

Wink

quick cash -

after all the htpc'ing I've done I know there is no such thing - what works for me is hard to replicate.... how I've tried to replicate others....

However one thing about your post - netradio doesn't give song titles for every song - if that's what you're after. It ain't like a digital radio station info display (although we don't even have that here in Australia - damn you my european friends Wink )

If you get a title for netradio on screen then thats the whole bloomen lot as they say .....

daza67 Wrote:I've just updated my htpc with a core duo and a gigabyte ga-965p-ds3 mobo. This board has a realtek alc883 hd codec chip and appears to allow bit perfect playback of DTS audio files within wmp and zoomplayer using directsound output !

The wave and application volume controls must be set to 100% and any dsp plugins need to be disabled otherwise this does not work.

There seems to be a problem with DTS audio file playback in GBPVR via the music library. I suspect the internal volume level during music playback is not being set to 100%. There does not appear to be any volume control available during music playback in GBPVR. If I open lastgraph.grf file generated the DTS file plays fine in graphedit.

Hi!

Is it confirmed that the ALC883 chip in Windows XP plays back bitperfect with digital out? I have that chip in my Asus P5K-VM and would like to not go the route with ASIO or KS if not needed. I do find the audio somewhat lacking when compared to that of S/PDIF from my CD player so I suspect something is happening...

I am in the process of turning my entire CD collection to FLAC and put the CD player and CD records away. But the sound must be equally good from the HTPC! Bit perfect is the key.
