Quote:When the OSD display shows the channel name and time, is it at all possible to show the channel number as well?

ok another problem i have now.

One of my dvb-s channels, is getting a very broken/weak signal. It works fine on my normal satellite receiver.

However, upon one of my scans, when i pressed channel up, another channel was getting the previous channel extremely well. ie Channel 1, and channel 2

Channel 1 is broken
Channel 2, is showing channel1 with good clear info. What is meant to be on channel 2, is not showing up.

A rescan, fixed channel 2, but channel 1 is broken.

So something tells me, that the signal is strong enough, as i could get it on channel 2, and my receiver, and its' some other funny problem.

Any ideas/

But yeh, main problem is still the squaky sound

The tuner on your capture device may not be as good as the tuner on your receiver.

On the audio problem, all I can suggest is trying a different audio decoder.

I would suggest that you try both AC3filter and the GPL MPEG 1/2 decoder.

They are both available free of charge from SourceForge.net (go to the site and search for them)

AC3filter handles all types of audio - and doesnt usually have a problem - plus it can output DD 5.1 through SPDIF passthrough (if you have the PC connected to a home theatre amp) and also upsamples stereo to 5.1 channels.

I havent had a problem with the GPL video decoder, it's not DXVA compatible, but if thats not a concern - then use it - and it's free! (also, it worked on my PC with all of the different renderers in GBPVR)

Thanks

Yeh, that''s what i thought, but then how come i got it under a different channel number very clearly?

That's what's got my hopes up in thinking that i can get it. It was a perfect fluid picture, no breakups or pixelations or anything.

hey i installd both ac3filter and the GPL Mpeg decoder, and neither helped Sad

The satellite is INSAT 2E, and it's at 83degrees East. The channels that cannot be found are of the E-TV Group, if that at all helps.

http://www.lyngsat.com/in2e.html

perhaps that may shed some light?

Cheers

bump and another problem.

When i'm scrolling through the channels on INSAT 2E.

There is 2 or 3 transponders, so if i start watching Transponder 2, and then scroll to transponder 1 channels, i get ~1 second of video and then a nothing. As if i have no signal. Infact, i get a 'no signal' message, with the signal strenghts being shown. The signal strength and quality both hover around 75%.

However, if i press 'back' and then go back into live tv, the channel will work perfectly. And then if i go into the next TP type channels, the same problem arises, and i'm forced to do an 'exit enter'
