Well, it was good whilst it lasted!

I just received the above post and immediately tried XMLTV GUI. It worked and brought down all my listings, but I couldn't get GBPVR to display more than the first four of them (I'm using the web interface, and can only see BBC1, 2, 3 & 4).

I dabbled a little to try to get it to work, returned to XMLTV for a reload and now I get this error:

19:27:58 - Error downloading "http://xmltv.radiotimes.com/xmltv/132.dat" : Connection Closed Gracefully.
19:27:58 - Grab failed on channel "132"

So it seems to be down again. Ho hum.

I'm not sure if they're back 100% but they're certainly on the road to recovery. I've just managed a full listings download without a hitch.

Now to setup an automated backup for my data.xml files. Smile

Cheers,
Brian

I've just grabbed the max and emailed it to myself as a backup.

I've found a command line email program out on the interweb called GBMAIL - no it isn't one of our leaders!. I found it at http://files.brothersoft.com/gbma112.zip and it runs a command line like:-

E:\>gbmail -to xml@something.com -file "e:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\config.xml" -h smtp.server.com -s "backup config.xml file"

I'm going to be emailing my data.xml, config.xml and recordingdump.xml to a gmail backup account daily now!.

I admire your Disaster Recovery approach (off-site backups etc.). Smile

I just backup to a second HDD in my machine. If that disk fails I still have my originals, if the C: drive fails then the backup will allow me to recreate things once I get a new C: drive.

If both drives fail at the same time it probably means a plane just dropped on my house and I've got bigger issues to worry about.

Cheers,
Brian (just south of Heathrow Airport)

I think that they might have been experiencing some instability and perhaps a little bit of overload with us all going at it. A friend of mine could only get a partial download, but I just tested again a few minutes ago with a full grab (of all Freeview channels for two weeks) with no hitch at all.
