Just to clarify what happens when I hit Update EPG, here is a screenie.

It just stays like this until the timer gets to 0 then is saves what it's got and returns.

P.S: I'm off to work now so I'll check back in after 6 tonight. All your help is really appreciated!

maybe not useful, but have you tried leaving it as dvr-ms to see if you get better results? I had similar happening, but for my, I'd start the recording, and it wouldn't actually put anything in the file until after about 1 minute 30.

I ended up rebuilding from Windows MCE to windows XP (which I saw you were already on).

sorry for giving u dodgy info. Like Normad101, I don;t actually use the DVB EPG, due to problems with the early versions.

do you have any files starting "gbepg-" in your recordings folder. if so delete them and try again.

That looks about normal for a DVB EPG update although with all the channels selected it should do that scan about 6 times (each 60 seconds) using different frequencies.

Something else I noticed in your logs is reference to C:\Temp which I think is the default setting for the recordings directory. Does this folder exist? You may want to configure the recordings and Live Tv buffer directories (under the directories tab of config app). DVB EPG uses the recordings directory to save temporary files with the EPG stream and if the folder doesn't exist it may be causing the EPG update to fail.

Then do an EPG update and post your logs again.

Cheers

Psycik: I have tried with the Microsoft DVR-MS mux and it doesn't record anything at all. I accidentally left it running all night long and still had a 0kb file at the end of it.

gEd: I have checked the recordings dir and there are no files starting "gbepg-" Sad

Tony: the dir c:/temp definitely exists. I made it myself just to be sure. When I do a Manual Record a folder is created within c:/temp called "Manual Recordings" and it's in there that the 0kb file ends up (named after the channel name and a time stamp).

Try running the ReRegisterFilters.bat file then try again.

Can you run FilterCheck then attach the resulting FilterCheck.log: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php...39&postcount=6.

I wish Sub was around, it's hard work this!

Tell me about it! Sub would probably have had this sorted on the first page of this thread! Smile It doesn't help that I couldn't get into the forums for some reason yesterday evening or this morning.

Sp4rky: could you do an EPG update then zip and post your logs.

Cheers

Hit the 'Update EPG' button, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Ok, done. Logs attached.

I visited a friend of mine who has just got GB-PVR up and running and he showed me how to set it up. My problem seems to be in the EPG Update... It scans 1 channel then stops.

Edit: Oh, I see something in the log here... line 479 of config.log:

Code:
2007-09-19 22:28:00.953    ERROR    [3]    Unexpected failed in DvbEpgReader.LoadChannels(): System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
   at NativeUtilities.BDARecorder.GetPsiParserEPG()
   at GBPVR.Backend.Common.DvbEpgReader.LoadChannels(IEpgUpdateProgressCallback callback)

/Edit

* Sorry it's taken me an extra few days to get this, I couldn't get on the Forum the other day and last night I was busy.
