Well - I did have a crash whilst scanning channels.

However...with UAC switched off 1.2.9 installs without error and, post the nativeutilities patch (no need for re-regservers.bat) and a scan for channels/EPG mapping, The Guide also starts up and works without hanging. Success Smile.

So - I guess the key to my main problems here are UAC but, as I have no particular reason to have it switched on, I can live with it off.

If you want to turn it back on, just modify the exe properties as I posted and it should work fine.

What I can say is that everything seems to be working OK now after a night's viewing Smile.

Assuming globally/selectively disabling UAC on Vista for both install and execution works for the other chaps here, one for the v1.2.9 survival guide?

I have disabled UAC, installed 1.2.9 again and configured and all works. Thanks for all the help.

I'm having the same issue in XP Pro. I addition to the @showTitleSubtitle placeholders on the guide, the channel scan during setup isn't getting my HDHR channel lineup (viewing channels via VLC works fine, tho).

I'm sure your problem is different from the discussion here.

You can get this if you have no channels setup. You need to make sure you've done the 'map digital channels epg channels' step, and have channels 'enabled' in the capture source channel list.
