I tried the file here also. It played fine for me with the ArcSoft video decoder.

Sounds like a video driver issue then? That would also explain the DirectX error showing in the logs. Have you updated to the latest driver from Intel?

Hold the phone for a while. I am uninstalling everything even tv card drivers and starting from scratch. I will check the Intel and Gigabyte sites for driver updates etc. Start from there, then tv card driver. Check vlc works, install npvr, patch and try again. Might not be back tonight, I have some family stuff to do as well....

2am, quick update before bed. I have picture and sound :-)
Don't know why.
No updates required for motherboard graphics (onboard graphics?) whatever. The tuner card showed up as having newer drivers available when googled but the drivers themselves did not appear to bo out there anywhere google could find them.
Unistalled BlazeHDTV. Installed SAF5. Got picture. The decoders in SAF5 appear to be a mix of what I already had. maybe just installed properly this time. Or maybe uninstalling Blaze did the trick. Don't know. Too tired to care;-)
