I have no idea what that error message means.

Quote:Upon cancelling, the TV screen shows with snow and no reception. On the other hand, reception is OK on GBPVR.
If you're seeing snow, then it's tuned to the wrong channels - check the channel numbers.

OK. Thanks, I understand. I have not mentioned respective frequencies against the defined channels so they have no reception.

Can you guide how we input the frequencies in NPVR? In GBPVR, we went to Config > Capture Source Tab > Edit Recording Source. Here we defined 'Source Channels' against Channel Names. We took these numbers from the Tuning Assistant.

In NPVR > Devices > Analog Recorder Settings, I can see Channel names and Serial numbers but where to input Source Channels like in GBPVR?

Regards.

NPVR log contains ...

Quote:2012-03-14 21:12:59.484 [ERROR][1] Error initialising Direct3D: SlimDX.Direct3D9.Direct3DX9NotFoundException: Direct3DX 9 was not found. Have you run the DirectX runtime (and other pre-reqs) from ...

I won't hurt to run the DirectX runtime again just to be sure. Good Luck.

Can you please guide where to enter channel frequency in NPVR?

(We used to obtain these for all channels in GBPVR after running the Tuning Assistant).

Go to Settings/Devices. Click Device Setup. Do you get ...

http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...etupDialog

I have just read your earlier post and see that you have been to Analog Device setup. I do not have analog here so I am a bit out of my depth.

I suspect the NPVR relies on tables that contain the frequencies used in each country. I might select UK and get a list of TV frequencies for the UK. I could then select from the list and map that frequency to a channel in my EPG.

It may be that there is no table for Pakistan or the table may be wrong. I quickly getting out of my depth! Good Luck.

Yes, there is no table for my country. Thats why in earlier GBPVR, I prepared a 'mock' EPG (an xml file which contained my channels list). I then mapped it to my analogue tuner devices. Later, I picked frequencies from Tuning Assistant and manually fed them for each channel in my devices.

I just want to know if this xml file is of any use in NPVR, because I guess I will have to 'add' the channels manually in Devices Setup.

This file is enclosed for your review (as text file).

Regards.

The table is the table of frequencies and not the EPG or XMLTV. I may be wrong ... but ... You do not need the xmltv file in NPVR. You create the channels and then later optionally add the EPG info to each channel. You should be able to run NPVR with each channel set to None in the Settings/Channel tab.

What happens here ...

when you set Country to Pakistan and then try values in the Number field?

Yes. It lets me change the channel numbers. In that way, I have defined the number for each channel that I obtained after running Tuning Assistant in GBPVR. I then copied it to other 03 tuner devices also.

However, something is still wrong. On Live TV, I first got message that 'Unable to communicate with recording device'. And then I get some strange message and the screen of Live TV starts as blank with snow (like you get when there is no signal).

I guess I have defined all the channels correctly now?

Should I post logs? The problem looks unsolvable and undiagnosable... I would be grateful if we get a diagnosis of the problem and some measures for its solution.

Posting some screenshots of my defined channels lists here..

Sorry. I don't know.

It appears that the tuner is not tuning to a frequency that has a TV station. I don't use analog devices so I can't help.

The tuner that you are using appears to be in AnalogDevices.xml in the NPVR data folder so I would expect it to be supported by NPVR.

I suggest that you start a new thread called something like, "How do I tune an analog tuner to a TV frequency?".

Good Luck.

Looking at your database you have 4 analog devices defined, but you only have have channel mapping for 3 devices. oid-23 is missing. It will be the second one on your list because you made it priority 2 and I don't know why the screen shot shows it having 49 channels.

Edit I manually poked them into the database does this work better?
