When the stream completes, the icon will change to "Idle" and blue and should remain that way until another stream starts, or a disconnection occurs.

I started a stream to see the "Now Playing..." text, which worked perfectly and with the MVP labels... quite cool. However, when I hit Stop and returned to the menu the icon changed from green to red.

To me it's no big deal since I'm most interested in knowing when someone's playing a video so I don't reboot the server or restart the services when it's in use. However, since you added the feature I thought you would want to know it's not working. However, the first build you released did show my MVPs as Idle instead of Not connected. Go figure.

Thanks again for such a nice little utility.

Thanks for the letting me know how it's working!

The "idle" behavior should improve with the next release of GB-PVR since currently, I can only detect stream related events, and not the MVP connect/disconnect activity. Sub was kind enough to add support for those events in the next build. Smile

Doesn't work if the service is using an alternate username instead of the local account :-(

OK, I feel like a dolt, I can seem to find out how to get this to work. Other than placing the .dll in the plugins, what else do I do? This seems like a very usefull tool, but I must have missed a post or a thread.
3x MVPs (not used anymore)
XBMC
Hauppauge 150 via SVideo
Comcast Digital Cable
Motorola HD Cable box channel changed via Firewire
Vista Home Premium with RDP hack
AMD Athalon 64 5000+
340gig sata, plus 80SATA+3x160IDE Drives in XP machine for storage.

After you copy the dll to the plugins folder, restart the "recording service" either via the GB tray icon, or by running the Config app and then clicking "OK".

If you have GB-PVR configured to "autostart" MVP servers then you should see one icon for each server in the system tray.

If you don't see any icons it means that the plugin wasn't found, MVP servers weren't autostarted, or the MVP servers started by the recording service don't have permission to display the icons.

One thing a few users have noted is that the icons will only appear if you have the "GB-PVR Recording Service" set up as "Local System account" and with "Allow service to interact with desktop" enabled in the "Log On" panel for the service.

You can also try running the "GB-PVR MediaMVP Server" application by hand to see if the icon shows up. If it doesn't, then the plug-in probably wasn't found. If it does, check the autostart and service "Log On" settings next.

I think this might be my problem. I have it set to my account so that I can view my fantasy Football via the Web Viewer Plugin, thanks, I'll try and putz with it.

Yep, that was it. It worked like a charm. It showed playing net radio, and video. Can it show anything else? viewing jpgs?

Now if I can get both it and web view working at the same time.

Thanks for the awesome plugin! Really helped the WAF here. The TV she watches is downstairs and my HTPC is upstairs. Now I don't reboot it or restart GB-PVR while she is watching things! Thanks again!!!

Don't know if this has already been asked but...

Could this plugin be extended so it can detect crashed MVPs and restart the GB-PVR MVP service?
